Depending an the specific project location some drainage improvements may be required, which would
f
TAIT & Associates, Inc,
L on -Call Engineoring services
with the proppratlon of special construction details, The preparation of a detailed drainage hydrology
a
The City of Santa Ana Is seeking a civil engineering firm to provide design engineering for approximately
u
1000 feet of street Improvements, The street Improvements Include lmplementatlon of the City's
n
"Complete Street" program that has already been Implemented at the existing street Intersections,4
f P
widening on one side and pavement rehabilitation, The existing roadway median was Improved to it
G d
ultimate condition on a previous project, but this assumption will beverlfled as part of the project's
v
preliminary design end reconfirmed at the 65% design phase. Since the Project's right of way has already
ng
t a
been acquired based on the City's 'Complete street program; the environmental assumption for this
project assumes that the preparation of supporting documents for a Negative DaciaTatlon will be
7
required, TAITwIII prepare a preliminary striping plan and typical street section to obtain the
h r
preliminary approvals and identify potential impacts to the adjacent private properties.
Depending an the specific project location some drainage improvements may be required, which would
f
typically Include the extension of existing streat storm drain laterals and new street catch basins and
local depressions, The construction requirements forthese Improvements can typically be addressed
with the proppratlon of special construction details, The preparation of a detailed drainage hydrology
a
and hydraulic study Is not warranted or proposed for this project. Also, since the proposed
u
Improvements will cover less than one acre the preparation of a Storm Water Pollutant Prevention Plan
(SWPPP) and a Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP) will not be required, TAIT will Incorporate any
f P
water quality provisions of the city's Complete street program that may opply'for this street segment
G d
and prepare specification to address construction storrn water runoff,
Utility notices will be distributed and record data will be Incorporated into the project's Base Map,
ng
t a
Utility Impacts will Include coo'rdinatldn with SCE for relocation of street lights on the side of the street
being widened; however based on the city's RFP Scope of Work Descrlptlon no other utility relocations
7
ars anticipated. This assumption will be confirmed prior to the City Kick off Meeting, Per the street
repaving typically utility adjustments for sewer and storm drain manholes, water and gas; valves, and
other utility appurtenances are anticipated and will be Identified on the plan$,
The scope of work required on this contract Includes monthly Project Team Meetings, Design Review
„u
Meetings (after the City competes their reviews), two design (laid walks (one for base map preparation
and a second prior to 90% PS&G QC review), Implementation of the City's Complete Street program,
geotechnical Investigations, PS&E preparation and construction engineering support services. In addition
a
If necessary the TAIT toam can proper Traffic Control Plans and provide federal funding assistance
during design and constructlon as optional services. Agency coordination' or processing of another
agency encroachment permits Is not anticipated as part of this project; however, this assumption will be
3
confirmed prior to conducting the project's Kick off Meeting,
V
Roadway Signing & Striping plans will also ba prepared for the street segment incorporating bike lanes
based on the following street typical sectlon for the, existing 120•foot right of way width.
• Two 10 -foot wide parkways with a sixfoot sidewalk and 4- foot of landscaped parkway
• Two 4 -foot wide curb adjacent bike lanes with a 4 -foot buffer separation,
I
• 98 -foot wide pavement area for three traffic lanes In both sides of the existing median
r
• The remaining 12 feet of the total 1.20 -foot ROW Is assumed to Include the existing street
median.
It is TAIT's understanding that the roadway signing will be replaced In kind and any existing damaged
roadway signs will be noted for removal and replacement based on City directions. New signing will
Include bike lane signing and "NO PARKING" signs.
,J TAIT
'n
Page 17
:,A
