utility Coordination
CSG will coordinate with the various utility agencies that have
facilities within the project area to request mapping of their
facilities in the area, and notify utility companies of facilities or
covers which need to be relocated or adjusted to grade as a result
of the proposed Irnprovemants; Utility covers Within the project
area will be cataloged by either aerial photogrommetry or field
reconnaissance and shown on plan, Utility coordination and
mapping efforts will assist in developing the required Utility
Certification,
-1tis anticipated that coordination efforts with utility companies
during construction to relocate or adjust their facilities will be
pgdormed by the Contractor.
Task D - Preliminary Design
CSG PROPOSAL TO SANTA ANA
MILE QNE PROJECT
tkample of Isolated pavementlailure at
utility cover
Preliminary Findings Technicai Memorandum
CSG will prepare a memorandum summarizing the findings of the data collection effort, Including recommended
Pavement treat nsnts 04 cost estimates based on either (1):a visual condition survey.alono, or, if authorized,
(2) thepavement design report and testing provided by Ki.
Task 0eliverobies;
plve (5) hard copies andpn electroplc POP of the draftreport
• 'Three /d) hard copies 641 electric ADF,of the final report
Concept Exhibits
CSG will prepare; preliminary design exhlbits that will be used for initial coordination efforts with
City/stakoholders to Identify any potential alternative methods, and assure no majorchanges or "Surprises"
occur late in the design process, The purpose of this submittal is to gain conceptual approval of the deslgn by
the city.
CSG will prepare three 13) different concept exhibits as well as a brief summary of advantages and
disadvantages, and a budgetary construction cost estimate, for each option, These concept exhibits will be
submitted forinternal review by the City prior to finalizing the three concepts for the first public meeting.
Task Deliverable$:
o Nve (9) hardcoples and an electronlc PDF of the concept exhibits, summary, and budgetary cost
estimates
a Summortxing memorandum of public outreach finding from first public meeting,
Task E < Design Development
Traffic Signal Design
Traffic signal modifications may involve modifications to the existing signals to provide bicycle detection at
Intersections bordering the proposed bike lanes. Video detection can be. added to these intersections for
bicyclists and vehicles, new conduits will be Installed for traffic signal wiring, and existing Induction leaps will be
removed, It is not anticipated that new traffic signal poles will need to be constructed, CSG will conduct a,n
assessment of the existing traffic signal facilities to determine if new traffic signal poles are required,
Mice Lane Addition
Modified width of 5' for bike lane may be required width depends on the minimum width required for vehicle
traffic lanes. This may be necessary if there are bus traffic in the area, Refinements to the basic concept will be
investigated and compared to find the best option,
