utility Coordination <br />CSG will coordinate with the various utility agencies that have <br />facilities within the project area to request mapping of their <br />facilities in the area, and notify utility companies of facilities or <br />covers which need to be relocated or adjusted to grade as a result <br />of the proposed Irnprovemants; Utility covers Within the project <br />area will be cataloged by either aerial photogrommetry or field <br />reconnaissance and shown on plan, Utility coordination and <br />mapping efforts will assist in developing the required Utility <br />Certification, <br />-1tis anticipated that coordination efforts with utility companies <br />during construction to relocate or adjust their facilities will be <br />pgdormed by the Contractor. <br />Task D - Preliminary Design <br />CSG PROPOSAL TO SANTA ANA <br />MILE QNE PROJECT <br />tkample of Isolated pavementlailure at <br />utility cover <br />Preliminary Findings Technicai Memorandum <br />CSG will prepare a memorandum summarizing the findings of the data collection effort, Including recommended <br />Pavement treat nsnts 04 cost estimates based on either (1):a visual condition survey.alono, or, if authorized, <br />(2) thepavement design report and testing provided by Ki. <br />Task 0eliverobies; <br />plve (5) hard copies andpn electroplc POP of the draftreport <br />• 'Three /d) hard copies 641 electric ADF,of the final report <br />Concept Exhibits <br />CSG will prepare; preliminary design exhlbits that will be used for initial coordination efforts with <br />City/stakoholders to Identify any potential alternative methods, and assure no majorchanges or "Surprises" <br />occur late in the design process, The purpose of this submittal is to gain conceptual approval of the deslgn by <br />the city. <br />CSG will prepare three 13) different concept exhibits as well as a brief summary of advantages and <br />disadvantages, and a budgetary construction cost estimate, for each option, These concept exhibits will be <br />submitted forinternal review by the City prior to finalizing the three concepts for the first public meeting. <br />Task Deliverable$: <br />o Nve (9) hardcoples and an electronlc PDF of the concept exhibits, summary, and budgetary cost <br />estimates <br />a Summortxing memorandum of public outreach finding from first public meeting, <br />Task E < Design Development <br />Traffic Signal Design <br />Traffic signal modifications may involve modifications to the existing signals to provide bicycle detection at <br />Intersections bordering the proposed bike lanes. Video detection can be. added to these intersections for <br />bicyclists and vehicles, new conduits will be Installed for traffic signal wiring, and existing Induction leaps will be <br />removed, It is not anticipated that new traffic signal poles will need to be constructed, CSG will conduct a,n <br />assessment of the existing traffic signal facilities to determine if new traffic signal poles are required, <br />Mice Lane Addition <br />Modified width of 5' for bike lane may be required width depends on the minimum width required for vehicle <br />traffic lanes. This may be necessary if there are bus traffic in the area, Refinements to the basic concept will be <br />investigated and compared to find the best option, <br />
