Examples of several studies include: <br />■ A department -wide classification and compensation study for all safety <br />Description: <br />classes in the Fire Department. This included the creation of new classes; <br />review of compensation; review and revision of minimum requirements for <br />hire or promotion for all classes; and preparation of new classification <br />specifications for all positions. <br />■ A Large organizational review for both the Public Health and Behavioral <br />Health Departments. This included the creation of new divisions and <br />sections; new classes and/or class series; analysis and recommendation for <br />new or revised salaries; and the preparation of new or revised class specs. <br />■ An analysis of the position of Chief Probation Officer, which Included an <br />analysis of the current job title, salary, and minimum qualifications. <br />Recommendations,were_discussed with SuperiorCourt.administrators and <br />a new classification specification was written. <br />■ Establishing a new class series and recommended compensation for the <br />position of Criminal Research Specialist. The objective of the <br />study was to determine the competitiveness of the City's base salary and total <br />compensation in the labor market.
