and generous coverage from the OC Weekly, OC Register, Excelsior, Miniondas, the City of <br />Santa Ana, online events calendars and local Latino electronic and online media outlets. <br />MASA's Radio Partner La Ranchera 96.7 FM, which is based in Santa Ana, will promote the <br />project to more than 420,000 listeners throughout Southern California. We also have outreach <br />partners such as Stay Connected OC, SAUSD and the OCHCC. This helps to maximize our <br />visibility and communicate the value, impact, artistic rigor and accessibility of our programs to <br />over 350,000 people. We also document all our programs via photography and video. <br />Funding from the Santa Ana Investing in the Arts grant is critical to success of this project, and <br />will help leverage the resources of the Film Fiesta and the Philip K. Dick Film Festival to bring the <br />festival to Santa Ana. If funding from the grant is not received, the 2019 Philip K. Dick Festival will <br />be held in New York. <br />Answers to Supplemental Questions: <br />Question 1: Please describe any additional City of Santa Ana resources required for your <br />project (permits, public space, licenses etc.) that you are required to obtain? <br />This project does not currently require additional resources from the city beyond the grant funds. <br />Depending on the diversity of the final screening locations, we may need to request use the new <br />city screening equipment to be used for free outdoor community screenings in parks. <br />Question 2: Is this a new or existing program/project? <br />This collaboration is a new project and for the OC Film Fiesta, which is in its 9th year. Dick Film Festival is in its 7th season. The website for the festival is <br />www.ThePhiIipKDickFiImFestival.com, and the trailer for the 2017 festival is viewable at <br />https://vimeo.com/244124683 <br />The Multicultural Dystopian/Science Fiction Short Film Challenge is a new component, and is part <br />of Media Arts Santa Ana's strategic plan to create a citywide filmmaking challenge. <br />Question 3: How will the proposed project be presented or shared with the public? Will the <br />art display, event or performance be free and accessible to the public? <br />The project will be presented via a series of innovative and engaging events at traditional and <br />non-traditional screening venues, community spaces, schools, the Santa Ana Public Library and <br />sites relevant to Philip K. Dick's life and history in Santa Ana. <br />By selecting venues and sites located throughout the city, this project demonstrates a <br />commitment to accessibility, to geographic diversity and to showcasing diverse cultural spaces <br />located in Santa Ana's often overlooked communities outside of downtown. <br />Attendance to activities funded by the Investing in the Artist grant will be free for all Santa Ana <br />residents, students and teachers. <br />Media Arts Santa Ana (MASA) <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
