Workshop (Texas A&M), Sexual Harassment Prevention and Investigation, Terrorism <br />Awareness, and Emergency Medical Dispatch. <br />Tallboard Training <br />This is a written informative training update that is distributed to field personnel on a <br />regular basis. It Is designed to be a quick, easy read. The Tailboard Training is very <br />effective to address current issues of interest. <br />• Glasses on Various Topics <br />Continuing education classes are offered on a variety of subjects.' Subjects such as <br />Basic EKG Rhythm Recognition, Pharmacology, and Terrorism Awareness and <br />Response are popular. Many times these classes are facilitated by Registered Nurses <br />from the Care Ambulance Specialty Care Transport Program. <br />Field Training Officer Meetings <br />Field Training Officer Meetings are held on a bl-monthly basis. This is an opportunity to <br />meet with all Training Officers at the same time, Each meeting has an agenda and an <br />educational component. Field Training Officers can then share Information with field <br />employees. <br />Conference Attendance <br />Operations and Training personnel frequently attend EMS conferences. Any personnel <br />that attend conferences are required to share information that was learned with other <br />employees. Information can be shared in Annual Mandatory Training, Continuing <br />Education Classes, Employee Company Meetings, Tallboard Training, or in small <br />Informal settings with employees. <br />Management Development <br />The Care Ambulance Management Team must provide direction, guidance and <br />leadership to field personnel. To accomplish this it is Important that the Management <br />Team is participating in ongoing training, Managers and supervisors attend professional <br />conferences and local training sessions. Some of the local training is facilitated by <br />public providers or hospitals. Managers from the Operations and Training departments <br />also participate in Article Review, Article Review involves the selection of a business or <br />management article from a relevant source. The article is then distributed to all <br />managers for review and preparation for discussion. Two (2) weeks after distribution of <br />the article the managers share perspectives and insights on the article. These sessions <br />are valuable learning environments allowing individuals to team from each other and <br />appreciate different perspectives. Ongoing training and education are Important in every <br />job. The dynamics of healthcare requires the healthcare professional to stay current on <br />changes In the delivery of care to patients. <br />Remedial Training <br />There are times when performance deficiencies are identified. Employees who request <br />or are require refresher training are referred to the training department. The training <br />department develops an Action Plan for Irnprovement and provides the required <br />training. After completion of the refresher training employees are monitored to ensure <br />compliance. <br />Skills Testing and Skills Competency Verification <br />17 <br />
