TTT <br />Residences should not be oriented such that they have views of loading docks <br />or back -of -house facilities of adjacent uses. <br />DG -17 Large multi -family residential projects should be broken <br />up to into groups of structures. Clusters of multi -family <br />structures should work together as one development. <br />C. Public Safety Through Design <br />DG -18 Use the concept of natural surveillance, or "eyes on the <br />street," by promoting features that maximize the visibility <br />of people, parking, and building entrances. <br />DG -19 Delineate the separation between public and private <br />spaces with paving, building materials, grade separations <br />or with physical barriers such as landscaping. <br />DG - 20 Use the concept of territorial reinforcement by promoting <br />features such as landscape planting, paving designs, and <br />DESIGN GUIDELINES 1 4 <br />gateway treatments that define property lines and <br />distinguish private space from public space. <br />DG - 21 Use the concept of natural access control by designing <br />streets, walkways, building entrances, and development <br />entries to clearly indicate public routes and to discourage <br />access to private areas. <br />7 Site Access, Service Areas, and Utilities <br />Access into the site takes place primarily from Main Street, either <br />directly or via Main Place Drive. As the area intensifies with surface <br />parking replaced by additional residential, office, and commercial <br />uses, locating primary and secondary access points at key locations <br />throughout the site will be important to facilitate the movement of <br />residents, employees, visitors, and retail goods. <br />A.
