DESIGN GUIDELINES 1 4
.,ell Articulation
DG - 51 Long building facades should be broken up through the use
of vertical and horizontal design elements, including
windows, banding, glass tinting or colored glass elements,
or material changes.
DG - 52 Buildings should incorporate more detailed design
elements at lower levels where they are easily visible to
pedestrians. This can include fagade articulation to create
"forecourt" type courtyard spaces.
DG - 53 Pedestrian level exterior walls should have elements of
building depth and character. Emphasize windows,
trellises, roof overhangs, recessed or projected stories,
columns, balconies, awnings, or other features.
Wall articulation helps to break up large building forms and create
architectural interest.
MAINPLACE SPECIFIC PLAN 1 4-10
