Little Water Recycling Facility Phase V <br />Design -Build Expansion; El Segundo, CA (West Basin Municipal Water <br />District) —Provided inspection services for the Phase V Design -Build project, <br />West Basin expanded Title 22, Barrier Water and Low Pressure Boller Feed <br />water treatment processes. The Phase V project involved expanding the Title <br />22 pretreatment capacity by 10 MGD to achieve a total treatment capacity of <br />40 MGD, along with expanding the Barrier Water production from 12.5 MGD <br />to 17.5 MGD and the Low Pressure Boller Feed water production from 1.7 to <br />2.2 MGD to serve Single -Pass RO water to NRG's El Segundo Power Plant. <br />The Phase V project addressed numerous capacity expansion and treatment <br />process upgrades. The project included Ozone-Microfiltration Pretreatment <br />Process; West Coast Barrier; El Segundo Power -Low Pressure Boiler Feed <br />Water; Title 22 Facility -High Rate Clarifier Expansion; Title 22 Pump Station; <br />Chemical Facilities; and miscellaneous civil work. <br />Lead Inspector, Chino It Desalter Concentrate Reduction Facility; <br />Jurupa Valley, CA; Chino Basin Desalter Authority (Value; $46.6 million; <br />Completion: 2015)—Mr. Crawford was the Lead Inspector for the CRF <br />groundwater treatment facility, which is one of two plants managed by the <br />Chino Baeln Desalter Authority. Both ion exchange (IX) and reverse osmosis <br />(RO) treatment trains are used to treat brackish groundwater from eight wells <br />that also have elevated nitrate concentrations. The project scope Included <br />construction of new softening, clarification, filtration, and secondary RO <br />(SRO) treatment and solids dewatering and storage; installation of a new <br />decarbonator; installation of a new transfer pump with motor with associated <br />VFD and motor controls and discharge piping and valves; installation of new <br />cartridge filters; modification of the existing sulfuric acid chemical system; <br />modification of the existing threshold inhibitor chemical system; and site <br />modifications, including new fencing and gates, yard piping, and storm drain <br />replacement. <br />Resident Engineer, Chino Desalter Reliability Project; Chino, CA; Chino <br />Basin Desalter Authority (Completion: October 2017; Value: $3.8 <br />million) --Butler provided CM and Inspection services for the Chino I Reliability <br />Project located at the existing Chino I Desalter. The project scope included the <br />following: new building built on to the existing Chino I Desalter facility; new RO <br />train tied into the existing feed water, permeate, concentrate, and CIP piping <br />manifolds; modification of the existing sulfuric acid chemical system by <br />replacing two existing metering pumps and furnishing and installing two <br />metering pumps; trench overflow constructed and connected below the air gap <br />that conveys water to the brine line; slurry seal all existing and new asphalt <br />surfaces; coating of the exterior of the existing process building to match the <br />new process building exterior coating system; and coating of all existing <br />trenches. <br />
