Bilingual Assignments. <br />A qualified incumbent of such position will be paid a monthly differential of forty <br />dollars ($40.00) above his/her base salary step for each full month of such <br />assignment. <br />D. Limits on Assignments <br />The number of bilingual assignments shall be no larger than the requirements of <br />the department, as determined by the Department Head and the City Manager. <br />E. Limits on Bilin uag I Pav <br />In no event shall an employee be eligible to earn more than one (1) bilingual pay <br />differential. <br />5.4 Shift Differential <br />A. Night Shift Differential <br />An employee who is continuously and regularly assigned to a schedule of work <br />which requires that he/she actually work a minimum of four. and one-half (4.5) <br />hours between the hours of 5:00 p.m, mid 7:00 a.m., will be paid a shift differential <br />for his/her entire work shift at a rate set ten (10) salary rate ranges, which is <br />approximately five percent (5.0%) higher than his/her then current base salary step. <br />This shift pay differential shall not be applicable to employees in the classification <br />of Park Ranger and Supervising Park Ranger. <br />13. Library Shift Differential <br />Employees hired and assigned to the Library prior to December 1, 1987, who work <br />evening shifts until closing time, but who are not otherwise eligible for shift <br />differential as provided under Subsection A above, shall receive special shift pay <br />in an amount equal to one-half (0.5) of one (1) hour's pay for each day they work <br />an evening shift until closing time. <br />This special shift pay shall be computed on the hourly equivalent of the base <br />monthly salary step. This half hour of shift pay shall not be counted toward the <br />computation of overtime. <br />Such special library shift pay differential shall not be applicable to library <br />employees hired on or after December 1, 1987. <br />2019-2022 MOU City of Santa Ana & SEIU Full -Time Employees Unit Page 26 �t°1 <br />
