<br />Staff is also requesting to amend the Fiscal Year 2019-20 Capital Improvement Program to show
<br />the project budget increase of $478,649 for the additional Design Engineering and Construction
<br />costs. (Exhibit 2).
<br />Public Outreach and Contractor Participation
<br />To provide an opportunity for local vendors to submit bids, a Notice Inviting Bids was advertised in
<br />the Orange County Register newspaper on September 27 and 28, 2019. Bids were received
<br />electronically via the City's web -based electronic bidding system, PlanetBids, on November 12,
<br />2019. Through the PlanetBids online portal, vendors may register to receive notification of all
<br />current and future City projects, as well as to download contract documents, receive project
<br />updates, and submit bids electronically. A total of 85 vendors, including three located in the City
<br />of Santa Ana, were notified of the project via PlanetBids. Sixty-one vendors requested bidding
<br />documents and 10 bids were received. No bids were received from Santa Ana contractors.

<br />Inc., in the amount bid.
