requests of the City into the plan. <br />5.3.3 Implementation and On -going Education Requirements <br />Contractor will provide a minimum of the following public education items to be <br />developed at Contractor's expense and distributed as indicated below: <br />• Initial Mailing - Contractor will prepare and mail an initial mailing to Customers <br />explaining the transition from the existing program to the new program. The <br />mailing will describe program changes, route changes, dates of program <br />implementation, and other necessary information. <br />• Workshops - Contractor will conduct a minimum of five public workshops <br />describing program changes, route changes, dates of program implementation, and <br />other necessary information. <br />• Instructional Packet Accompanying Contractor -Provided Containers - An <br />information packet shall be attached to each set of Carts distributed to a Customer. <br />At a minimum, packet should describe available services, including how to place <br />Carts for Collection, which materials should be placed in each Cart, Collection <br />holidays, and a Customer service phone number. <br />• Cart Instruction Markings - Contractor will place stickers on, or hot stamp, <br />Recyclable Materials and Organics Carts to demonstrate to Customers which <br />materials are and are not acceptable for placement in each Cart. Stickers shall be <br />replaced when materials change or as labels become worn. Markings shall be <br />written in both English and Spanish. Additionally, all Carts shall be labeled in <br />accordance with CalRecycle requirements under SB 1383 throughout the term of this <br />Agreement. <br />• How -To Brochure - Contractor will prepare and distribute a brochure packet to <br />new Customers when they start service. Packet will contain updated information on <br />how to use the Contractor -provided Containers, when, where and how to place <br />Solid Waste for Collection, and who to contact with service or billing questions. <br />• Annual Brochures/Mailings - Not less than once per year during each Rate Year, <br />Contractor shall prepare and distribute to each Customer a mailing to update <br />Customers regarding program basics, program changes, holiday schedules and <br />March 9, 2020 60A8617 5 City of Santa Ana - DRAFT <br />
