City of Buena Park <br />Housing Discrimination <br />• The Fair Housing Foundation (FHF) conducted 4 tenant, 4 landlord and 4 property manager <br />training. <br />• FHF participated in the Buena Park Collaborative, North Orange County Chamber of <br />Conference, Annual Super Senior Saturday, Buena Park School District Annual Kinder <br />Faire, and the inaugural Open House and Resource Fair. <br />• FHF addressed 602 "Housing" issues during the report period. The most common issues <br />were notices, habitability, rent increases, security deposits, lease terms, and rights and <br />responsibilities. <br />Racial and Ethnic Segregation <br />• FHF provided fair housing literature in both English and Spanish. <br />• PSAs were aired on the City's cable station. <br />• Participated in quarterly OCHA (PHA) Housing Advisory Committee meetings. <br />• The City does not offer homebuyer assistance programs. <br />Reasonable Accommodations <br />• FHF provided fair housing related serves to 490 unduplicated households from tenants, <br />landlords and managers, and property owners. <br />33 fair housing allegations were received by FHF. Protected classes included race (8), <br />familial status (1), and mental and physical disability (22). 22 allegations were resolved — <br />I I cases were opened and 2 are pending. No evidence was found in 4 cases to sustain <br />allegations; however, 4 cases were opened and ultimately resolved via conciliation. <br />FHF conducted 3 landlord and 3 certified property managers trainings. <br />FHF developed an "Accommodation & Modification 101 Workshop" for housing <br />providers that covers the legal parameters that housing providers need to know in order to <br />make an informed decision when addressing accommodation & modification requests. <br />Unfair Lending <br />The City no longer offers homebuyer assistance. FHF utilizes the City's quarterly magazine <br />to promote housing rehabilitation programs. The magazine is distributed to each housing <br />unit city-wide. <br />Density Bonus Incentives <br />• The City's Zoning code was amended to comply with current state density bonus law <br />during prior report period. <br />City of Costa Mesa <br />During the report period the City took the following actions in an effort to overcome the <br />impediments to fair housing choice identified in the AI: <br />10 <br />75A-289 <br />
