WJE <br />Civic Center Plaza Structural Analysis <br />Structural Analysis of Civic Center Plaza of the Flag/Fountain <br />Communication with representatives of the City with respect to previously completed work and the <br />project overall will be key in ensuring that information is presented completely and efficiently. WJE's <br />project manager will be the key contact for the City to ensure efficient communication. <br />Relevant Project Experience <br />Project Description and Client Contact <br />Santa Ana Federal Building Concrete Facade Repair; Santa Ana, CA <br />Mr. Brian Stilley, Deputy Director, U.S. General Services Administration <br />(GSA), (213) 894-0313 <br />The nine -story building with a precast concrete facade was built in 1975, <br />GSA had identified notable conditions including isolated concrete distress. <br />Ann Harrer was the Project Manager. WJE's services included: field <br />investigation and facade survey to identify concrete distress and <br />deterioration of panels; concrete sampling, petrographic examination and <br />chemical analysis of cores; development of repair options with various <br />repair approaches; and construction period services to review mock-ups <br />and submittals, and to verify the quality of the repairs. Completed in 2019. <br />Ritz -Carlton, Laguna Niguel PT Concrete Repairs; Dana Point, CA l <br />Mr. Mike Williams, Director of Engineering, (949) 240-2000 <br />A stand-alone, three -level parking structure constructed in 1983 of post - <br />tensioned (PT) slabs and beams supported by concrete cast -in -place <br />columns was exhibiting localized spalling concrete, requiring closures. <br />Ann Harrer led the project. WJE's services included: field investigation to <br />diagnose surface and underlying issues and mechanisms of deterioration; a <br />visual condition assessment; concrete sampling, petrographic examination, <br />and chemical analysis of cores; construction documents to repair the post - <br />tensioning tendons, concrete, cracks, waterproofing systems, and the <br />expansion joint. Construction was coordinated with an occupied hotel and <br />operational parking garage. A repair and priority schedule was provided to <br />accommodate tenant activities. Completed in 2018. <br />Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach Parking Structure Evaluation; Redondo <br />Beach, CA <br />Mr. Gabriel Toro, Project Manager, (770) 604-2123 <br />This four-story beachfront parking structure was built in 1986, with one <br />below -grade and three above -grade levels; it is post -tensioned concrete <br />slab construction, with cast -in -place reinforced concrete columns and <br />structural walls. A portion of the roof includes a swimming pool and spa <br />vaults, tennis courts, and patio space. Water leaks, cracking, and spelling of <br />the structural concrete elements were of concern. <br />WJE's services included: visual observations, nondestructive testing, <br />exploratory openings, and laboratory studies to determine as -built <br />construction and the condition of the structural and waterproofing systems; <br />concrete sampling, petrographic examination, and chemical analysis of <br />cores; development of remediation program with comprehensive <br />waterproofing and structural concrete repairs.
