Date of Determination (DOD) <br />The DOD is the date used to determine the <br />timeliness of the return of unearned title IV funds. <br />The DOD is the earliest of the following three (3) <br />dates: <br />1. Date the student provides official notification of <br />intent to withdraw; <br />2. The date the student failed to comply with one <br />of the school's published attendance/academic <br />policies; <br />3. 14 calendar days from the student's last date <br />of attendance. <br />Course and Program Changes <br />UEI College has the right, at its discretion, to <br />make reasonable changes in program content, <br />materials and equipment as it deems necessary <br />in the interest of improving the students' <br />educational experience. UEI College reserves <br />the right to make changes in organizational <br />structure, policies and procedures as <br />circumstances dictate. When size and curriculum <br />permit, classes may be combined to provide <br />meaningful instruction and training and contribute <br />to the level of interaction among students. When <br />ongoing federal, state, or accreditation changes <br />occur which affect students currently in <br />attendance, UEI College is required to make <br />appropriate changes. <br />Student Services <br />Student Academic Advisement <br />UEI College's faculty and staff are available to <br />advise students on academic problems, and, if <br />necessary, provide referral to counseling and <br />information on housing, transportation, child care, <br />or additional services when required. <br />Professional and academic development <br />workshops are available to any student who <br />wishes assistance in areas such as relevant <br />coping skills, study skills, test taking, time <br />management and support and motivation while <br />attending. Please contact the Director of <br />Education for information on academic <br />advisement, counseling referrals, and <br />professional and academic development. <br />Career Services <br />The school maintains a policy of providing job <br />placement assistance for all of its graduates. No <br />school can ethically promise or guarantee a job. <br />However, UEI College does provide assistance <br />with resume writing, interviewing techniques, job - <br />search skills, arranging appointments for job <br />interviews and subsequent follow-up. Please <br />contact the Director of Career Services for <br />additional information on job placement services. <br />Academic Coaching and Tutoring Support <br />UEI College instructional staff is available to <br />assist students with academic coaching and <br />additional tutoring to support student success. <br />Students are encouraged to contact the Director <br />of Education to schedule coaching or tutoring <br />appointments. <br />Student Appreciation and Recognition <br />UEI College believes that student success is our <br />success, and we support the acknowledgement <br />and recognition of our outstanding students. <br />Students may aspire to be recognized at their <br />school for perfect attendance, high academic <br />achievement, serving as a Student Mentor or <br />School Ambassador, and additional awards and <br />recognition. Please contact the Director of <br />Education for information on student appreciation <br />and recognition. <br />Student Mentoring <br />UEI College provides student mentoring to <br />support new students to assimilate into the school <br />and their program. Student mentors are selected <br />based on their leadership, attitude, attendance, <br />grades and overall school performance. Please <br />contact the Director of Education for additional <br />information on student mentoring programs. <br />Learning Resources <br />Based on course offerings, campuses provide <br />ample reference materials required to complete <br />assignments for each program curricula. <br />Resources include access to Internet and printing <br />along with various periodicals, videos/ DVDs and <br />volumes housed on campus. Both hybrid and <br />residential students can access learning <br />resources remotely using a computer/smart <br />device with internet connection. Access to the <br />learning resource center is between the hours <br />8am - 8pm Monday through Friday (hours vary by <br />campus). Online library resource is available <br />2417, <br />Attendance and Leaves of Absence <br />UEI College maintains policies related to <br />attendance monitoring and leaves of absence <br />(LOA). The school regularly monitors student <br />attendance and notifies students of their <br />attendance progress in each module. For detailed <br />information regarding attendance requirements <br />and LOAs please refer to the Attendance Policy <br />section and Leave of Absence section of this <br />catalog. Students with questions regarding <br />attendance or LOAs should contact the Director <br />of Education. <br />
