SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Project Initiation I Following agreement of <br />the scope of work and schedule, Michael <br />Baker initiates and maintains project <br />momentum by following the established <br />schedule milestones. Project meetings are <br />scheduled and documented on a regular <br />basis. Meeting documentation includes <br />preparation of an agenda to provide <br />structure for the participants. Michael Baker works to foster a partnership between all members of the Project Team to <br />achieve "buy -in" so that client expectations are met. Early identification, resolution and documentation of critical issues is imperative <br />to keeping each task order assignment on schedule and within budget. <br />Contract Administration I Control of project costs and unnecessary design changes is an important element of Contract <br />Administration. We are committed to informing the City as soon as possible of any potential or proposed design revisions that will <br />affect the established budget. Michael Baker's adherence to the original scope of work and cost budget is achieved through timely, <br />open/honest and continuous communications with City Staff. <br />Budget Control I Frequent monitoring and early identification of any design change affecting project costs will control engineering <br />costs. This monitoring is accomplished through Michael Baker's Work Breakdown Structure and construction costs will be evaluated <br />at each milestone submittal to assure the City that the project can be completed within budget. <br />Project Progress Meetings I On a monthly or as -needed basis, Michael Baker will attend and chair Project Team meetings with the <br />City and other involved stakeholders. Project objectives, schedule, and work progress to -date will be discussed to identify and resolve <br />critical issues promptly, address budget issues and other related items. Another effective management tool used by Michael Baker <br />includes conducting environmental workshops with key City environmental team members to focus on key issues, technical studies, <br />and mitigation. <br />Coordination and Communication with Public Agencies I Michael Baker's proactive, spirited approach to building positive team <br />relationships while maintaining the mutual respect of all parties has been paramount to our success. Maintaining open lines of <br />communication and having the entire Project Team develop a commitment to fostering cooperative teamwork will result in the <br />resolution of critical issues in a timely manner. Michael Baker has established positive working relationships with a number of <br />agencies expected to be involved in City projects, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Regional Water Quality Control Board, <br />California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Caltrans, among others. <br />Community Participation I Community members are the true planning and design experts when it comes to their neighborhoods, <br />villages, and community development. Michael Baker believes in the value of community involvement and the importance of local <br />ownership of planning and design projects. As part of this commitment to community and the City, public participation will continue to <br />be a valued cornerstone of any task order led by our team. <br />Project Delivery and Coordination I Design of a project may bring forth a variety of issues that could require interface with <br />jurisdictional agencies and other affected entities. Michael Baker is proud of its recent accomplishments in maintaining and <br />accelerating project delivery in partnership with our agency team members.
