These videos <br />will also serve as the core of future MILPA classes, which can be delivered next year without <br />having to recreate the videos. We will also promote the online videos to the larger community <br />via social media, our substantial email list and directly to schools and community organizations. <br />We can also provide them for broadcast on the city's public access Channel 3. Over time, <br />hundreds and even thousands of Santa Ana residents can learn valuable digital production <br />techniques from these videos at no additional cost. <br />Additionally, age -appropriate films and documentaries available for free viewing from the <br />Kanopy streaming catalog will be assigned to provide a well-rounded and robust exposure to <br />master filmmakers and expert cinematic techniques. Kanopy is available for free with a library <br />card, and participants will be instructed to obtain a Santa Ana Public Library card in order to <br />view the assigned films. <br />The 8 weeks of instruction will focus on the following: <br />• How to Use a Camera (Fundamentals of Cinematography) <br />• Lighting Techniques <br />• Sound Recording <br />• Editing <br />• Brainstorming a Project <br />• How To Write a Script <br />• How To Be A Great Producer <br />• Exporting and Sharing Your Work <br />In addition to receiving instruction in the creative and technical aspects of digital media <br />production, participants will also learn how to produce projects that serve the needs of their <br />organizations, including fundraising videos, program documentation, citizen journalism, PSA's, <br />podcasts and documentaries about issues facing their communities. MILPA connects <br />participants with real world job training via workshops led by professionals from such sectors as <br />film production, media, gaming, tech, real estate and legal video. This program provides critical <br />access and pathways to high -earning 21st Centuryjobs and provide participants with the skills <br />to escape a future of low -paying service industry jobs. <br />MILPA will also introduce participants to local community, health, arts, advocacy and <br />neighborhood associations in order to encourage them to serve as video production volunteers <br />or interns in order to fulfill a critical need for documentation and also to obtain valuable <br />production experience and engagement with the larger Santa Ana community. Examples of <br />these include Latino Health Access, Cambodian Family, the Santa Ana College Digital Media <br />Center, Santa Ana Musicians Association and the Mexican Consulate in Santa Ana. <br />MILPA will also introduce participants to valuable organizations and resources, such as the <br />National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), National Association of Latino <br />Arts and Culture, Sundance Institute Collab, Arts OC, California Arts Council and the Association <br />12 <br />
