June 21, 2021 <br />:wk <br />Mayor Sarmiento and Councilmembers <br />My name is Julie Weaver and I am the Vice President Corporate Controller at Athens Services. <br />I am responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of the financial <br />statements, ensuring the financial statements are issued timely and accurately. <br />As an employee of Athens I can tell you that when I joined the Company in July 2020 1 was extremely <br />impressed with the number of strong leaders within the organization. In our bi-weekly Leadership <br />meetings, which includes approximately SO employees, each member is required to present a few times <br />a year. These presentations allow all divisions and departments to share information which ultimately <br />results in process improvements and overall cost savings to the Company. The Leadership group also <br />includes many strategic roles, IT, risk, safety, project management and process improvement. With all <br />these resources it allows everyone to excel <br />I also have witnessed firsthand the great quality of service we provide. I'm also very impressed with our <br />Company culture and Employee Relations. The Company encourages employee development and works <br />with our talented leaders to move them into other roles when employees have out grown their current <br />role. Also, the executives are constantly reminding the leadership group that without the drivers we are <br />nothing. The Company does a lot to recognize all employees with promotions and awards and other <br />benefits. I believe the great level of service comes from the drivers' Supervisors working closely with City <br />officials. <br />For all these reasons, I strongly recommend Athens Services and respectfully ask that you consider <br />selecting Athens Services to be the City of Santa Ana's residential and commercial solid waste service <br />provider. <br />Sincerely, <br />Julie Weaver <br />
