Kleinfelder utilized its large team of in- <br />house materials testers with Caltrans certifications. This allowed <br />the team to assist the County laboratory in load -leveling with minimal <br />disruption to meet seasonal construction testing needs. <br />Availability/Responsiveness. The depth of our team and local <br />operations enabled us to identify the appropriate staff and schedule <br />for service within hours of receiving requests. <br />Kleinfelder has been providing on -call geotechnical, materials testing <br />and inspection services for the City of Long Beach since 1991. Under <br />numerous contracts, Kleinfelder has performed work on over 500 <br />task orders for the City. The scope of work comprises the <br />improvement for numerous city street projects (federally and locally <br />funded), airport runways and taxiways, public works facilities (fire <br />stations & libraries) and parks. <br />Underthe management of Mr. Dany Hanna, PE, MS, MBA <br />Kleinfelder has been consistently providing quality and effective on -call <br />materials testing services, which include observation and testing for <br />asphalt concrete, soils, base, slurry seal, full depth reclamation, cement <br />treated base, lime treated soil, PCC testing, and special inspection <br />services of reinforced concrete, structural masonry, structural steel <br />welding and bolting, shotcrete, spray -applied fireproofing, pre -stressed <br />(pre and post -tensioned) concrete, installation of adhesive and <br />mechanical anchor bolts and dowels, HMA, PCC batch plant <br />inspections, and soil nail installation observation. <br />In addition to materials testing and inspection services, Kleinfelder <br />performed batch plant inspection and reviewed HMA and PCC <br />pavement mix designs. Kleinfelder has also performed on -call <br />environmental services under this contract including asbestos and <br />lead -based paint surveys and abatement oversight. <br />CLIENT BENEFITS <br />Rapid Local Response. Having a local laboratory resulted in cost <br />saving to the City by minimizing travel time and sample pick up and <br />drop off time and which indirectly yields to quick turn -around of test <br />results, avoiding potential construction delays. <br />Client: County of Los Angeles Kleinfelder has been providing on -call materials testing services for <br />Department of Public Works the County of Los Angeles since 2000.
