CLOSED SESSION REPORT — The City Attorney will report on any action(s) from Closed <br />Session. <br />MINUTES: City Attorney Sonia Carvalho announced two items listed in closed session <br />report. Item 1 was not discussed; direction was given to legal council on item 2. <br />Mayor Sarmiento announced that council will reconvene into Closed Session after Open <br />Session has concluded. <br />After consideration of Regular Open Item 27, Mayor Sarmiento announced to move <br />Closed Session Item 1 to the next Special meeting. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT — Public comments will be held during the beginning of the meeting for <br />ALL comments on agenda and non -agenda items, except for public hearings. Comments for <br />public hearings will take place after the hearing is opened. <br />MINUTES: Clerk of the Council Daisy Gomez reported out on correspondence received. <br />Victor Payan, Executive Director of Media Arts Center Santa Ana, spoke on Item 24 to <br />support arts funding. <br />Allison spoke in support of Item 24 to support the Immigrant Defense Fund. <br />Jose Trinidad Castaneda with Climate Action Campaign spoke in support of Item 26 for <br />immediate action against climate change. <br />Tristan Miller spoke in support of Item 26 and Item 25. <br />Dale Helvig thanked staff for addressing the homeless encampment, inquired about length <br />of time for design completion on Item 16, and provided input on Item 26. <br />Lisa Okamoto with Immigrant Defender's Law Center spoke in support of Item 24, <br />Immigrant Defense Fund, and requested that funds be increased. <br />Silva Hernandez with Inside Santa Ana spoke on Item 24 regarding the Revive Santa Ana <br />Plan and noted the need for housing. <br />Angel Ruiz spoke on Item 24, provided comments on the Revive Santa Ana Plan survey, <br />and provided input on how funds should be spent. <br />Carlos Perea with Harbor Institute for Immigrant and Economic Justice spoke in support <br />of Item 24 regarding the Immigrant Defense Fund and Revive Santa Ana Plan. <br />Irma Jauregui thanked staff for addressing the homeless encampment at El Centro <br />City Council 5 5/18/2021 <br />
