three small conference rooms, including one outfitted for active learning and video- and tele- <br />conferencing, and Office of Information and Technology's AIRB training lab (that includes 1 <br />instructor and 20 student stations that are Dell OptiPlex 9020, 24" monitor, intel core i7, 8gb <br />RAM, Intel Graphics, CD-FW, 256GB SSD. To support our academic and professional <br />mission the school has a complement of faculty trained in the academic research tradition and <br />those trained in the practice traditions. All core faculty have earned professional graduate <br />degrees, either a quintessential doctoral research degree, (i.e. PhD, .SeD, DPhil) or a <br />professional practice degree (DrPH). Many of our faculty have, in addition to the <br />quintessential doctoral research degree, a professional practice degree (MPH). To maintain a <br />highly qualified faculty, all academic personnel are reviewed for performance at regular <br />intervals (i.e. every two years for pre -tenure faculty members; every three years for tenured <br />faculty, and every five years for faculty at and above Full Professor, Step V). The objectives <br />of the undergraduate and graduate degrees are to create a motivated cadre of public health <br />professionals who are prepared to implement effective strategies for reducing the burden of <br />disease and disability in culturally diverse communities; and to work collaboratively on <br />assessments of health risk factors and on the management of evidence -based prevention <br />strategies. Hence, the core competencies cover the main theoretical and methodological <br />subjects and crosscutting interdisciplinary themes that underpin advanced study and <br />professional practice in public health. <br />For the past year, the School of Population and Public Health has worked collaboratively with <br />the Cities of Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Anaheim in North OC, and the Orange County Health <br />Care Agency, and as a founding partner of the OC COVID-19 Health Equity Community - <br />Academic Partnership.
