CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />RFP NO.: 22-133 <br />CIN LCALL ENGINEERING dOESIGN SERVICES FOR PFAS TREATMENT SYSTEMS <br />the scope of work shall include the fplloyAng for the Planning Study: <br />A. MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES <br />The Consultant shall conduct project management activities to ensure adherence to <br />budget and schedule. The Consultant shall coordinate and attend meetings with City staff <br />pertaining to the project kickoff, reviewing draft reports, and as needed to prepare and <br />address project inquiries and issues_ In addition, the Consultant shrill provide meeting <br />minutes for each meeting as well as biweekly updates of progress to the City. <br />0. WELL ASSESSMENT AND OTIAL TREATMENT DESIGN <br />The Consultant shall gather information on the City's groundwater conveyance systems, <br />impacted wells, reservoirs, imported water connections, and conduct site visits per the <br />City's request to determine available area of land for the PFAS treatment systerrr sj as <br />well as determine haw the treatment systems} will be integrated into the Citys existing <br />operations, The Consultant shall also review any existing and available information on <br />the Cilys historical PFAS bench- and pilot -scale testing as well as historical Planning <br />Studies perfomtied and existing PFAS treatment facility layguts, and adhere to the <br />standards set therein. <br />In the preliminary Planning Study, the Consultanl shall prol.Ade a conceptual layout tpr <br />each requested l+ocafion by the City based on existing ion exchange (I%) treatment <br />systems (Aqueo(JS Vets System rated for 150 PSI)_ For all IX wellhead treatment <br />designs, the Consultant shall incducle cartridge filter pre-trealment, a sand separator, IX <br />lead -lag system capable of addressing the wetd(s)'s gallon per minute capacity, an <br />emergency generator, and an additional sound attenuated booster pump to combat the <br />head loss experienced through the new treatment system <br />C. PERMIT ASSESSMENT <br />The Consultant shall perform an initial permitting assessment to understand any <br />requrreamments. as well as develop a list of required permits (include permit description, <br />issuing regulatory agency, summary of permit requirements, and permit acquisition <br />hm,elines). <br />D. FEASIBILITY STUDY <br />The Planning Study shall possess a Feasibility Study in which the Consultant shall <br />investigate hydraulic conditions of existing wells and determine what modifications to <br />existing well pumps and transmission systems (booster pumps) will be necessary, if any, <br />for the installation of the proposed PFAS wellhead treatment facilities. <br />E, COST ESTIMATES <br />City of Santa Ana iF 22-133 <br />gn�Call <br />City Council <br />115 19-211 <br />4/4/2023 <br />
