Storm Water Best Management Practices
Kimley-Horn understands the variety and complexity of stormwater management. Our experience
encompasses everything from traditional hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design of storm drainage
systems, culverts, and bridges to holistic urban watershed -based solutions (including multiple BMPs,
stream restoration, culvert improvements, public involvementleducation, permitting, and mitigation
banking) that address flood control, water quality, aesthetics, and mitigation needs. Our staff has the
expertise to conduct the necessary studies to prepare master drainage reports and to complete drainage
plans based on these or previously prepared studies. We are well -versed in stormwater regulations
throughout the state of California to help clients understand the permitting process and guide them
through difficult development decisions.
Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP)
Kimley-Horn's specialists can help you overcome water quality management issues through resource -
focused solutions that add value to sites while meeting federal, state, and/or local requirements.
These solutions include green infrastructure design, watershed or nutrient management plans, stream
restoration, regulatory permitting, program developments, asset management, and retrofitting of non-
compliant stormwater control facilities. We understand stormwater management solutions should do
more than address regulatory requirements —they should provide value to the site and community
by incorporating solutions to flooding, providing open spaces and parks, protecting our natural water
resources, and considering aesthetics.
Bid Advertisement Support
Kimley-Horn excels at making our clients successful, from project beginning to end, including bid support
services. We can prepare and distribute bid documents on behalf of the City, review contractor bids,
prepare bid tabulation, and prepare a contractor recommendation. Although our aim is to prepare a plan
set that can stand by itself, we will respond to contractor requests for information and clarification in
a timely manner.
Construction Support
Kimley-Horn's full -service consulting includes comprehensive construction administration services with
experienced inspection staff in all types of construction. Our construction phase personnel can prepare
bid documents and contractor notification, attend pre -construction conferences and regular project
meetings, and provide review and approval of pay estimates. In addition, our construction phase services
include site visits and observation of construction, preparing change orders and recommendations,
shop drawings and samples review, inspections and tests of non-standard site -related work, substantial
completion determination, site punch list generation, and final notice of acceptability of work. As project
requirements demand, Kimley-Horn can provide the City copies of as -built plans based on contractor's
redlines incorporating all changes made during the construction period.
City of Santa Ana - LPOC77002.2023
Kimley,»Horn ,o
