Maggie Moreno, on behalf of Congressmember Lou Correa, read a letter from <br />Congressmember Lou Correa in support of Item 24. <br />Biff Baker spoke on Item 22 and changes they would like to see with the Police Oversight <br />Commission. <br />Jesus Santana spoke on Item 21 and spoke in support of continuing implementation of a <br />rental registry, a rent board for transparency, rent protection, and accountability within the <br />City's rental properties. <br />Gema Suarez (translation: Spanish) spoke on Item 21 in support of protection for <br />vulnerable residents and low-income families. <br />Vincent Tran, Community Engagement Coordinator for VietRise, spoke in support of Item <br />21 and in support Item of 22 with changes they would like to see with the Police Oversight <br />Commission. <br />David Carbajal spoke in support of Item 21 and upcoming elections. <br />Carlos Perea, Director for the Harbor Institute for Immigrant and Economic Justice, spoke <br />in support of Item 21 and Item 22 with changes they would like to see with the Police <br />Oversight Commission. <br />Perla S spoke on Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the process of establishing a <br />police report at the police station. <br />America Najera spoke on Item 21 and on displacement and division of families due to high <br />rent. <br />The following speakers addressed Council via teleconference: <br />Roxel Soto spoke on Item 22 and the changes they would like to see with the Police <br />Oversight Commission. <br />Loran Quniones addressed a non -agenda item regarding repealing the anti cruising <br />ordnance. <br />Benjamin Vasquez spoke in support of the Police Oversight Commission, Renter <br />Registry, and a Renters Board. <br />Victor Mendez spoke on changes they would like to see with the Police Oversight <br />Commission. <br />City Council 12 10/18/2022 <br />
