catalog, missed class time is counted toward the <br />total class hours missed. <br />Graduation Requirements <br />To be eligible for graduation and receive a <br />diploma, or an Associate degree (for the Health <br />Services Administration program) the student <br />must complete each module in the program with <br />a minimum grade point average of 2.0, meet the <br />attendance requirements for the in -school <br />training as stated in the attendance policy, <br />successfully complete all elements of externship, <br />if required, and current with all financial <br />obligations to the school. <br />If a student is not current with all financial <br />obligations, the student will not receive their <br />diploma and tool kits/supplies upon <br />graduation. Additionally, the student may not <br />be able to participate in the graduation <br />ceremony. <br />Upon completion of the Health Services <br />Administration program, graduates will be <br />awarded an Associate of Applied Science <br />degree. <br />Transcript Policy <br />Upon successful completion of his/her <br />educational program, each eligible student (as <br />noted above) will receive an official transcript and <br />official diploma. There is no charge for the first <br />official transcript and diploma; however, <br />additional fees will apply for additional copies of <br />official diplomas and official/unofficial transcripts. <br />Additional copies of an official diploma and <br />official/unofficial transcripts may be obtained at <br />the request of the student. The request should be <br />made through the online portal located on the <br />school's website: httns://www.uei.edu/ <br />Copyright Policy <br />UEI College does not allow or condone the use of <br />UEI College resources for the unauthorized <br />distribution of copyrighted material, including <br />peer -to -peer file (P2P) file sharing. Engaging in <br />such activity will result in disciplinary action. <br />Such activity may also subject colleagues, <br />including faculty, staff, and students to civil and <br />criminal prosecution. <br />Summary of Civil and Criminal Penalties for <br />Violation of Federal Copyright Laws <br />Copyright infringement is the act of exercising, <br />without permission or legal authority, one or more <br />of the exclusive rights granted to the copyright <br />owner under section 106 of the Copyright Act <br />(Title 17 of the United States Code). These rights <br />include the right to reproduce or distribute a <br />25 <br />copyrighted work. In the file -sharing context, <br />downloading or uploading substantial parts of a <br />copyrighted work without authority constitutes an <br />infringement. <br />Attendance Policy <br />Attendance Requirements <br />UEI College encourages all students to attend <br />class on a regular and consistent basis by <br />adhering to the following attendance policy. <br />Additionally, all students in a hybrid and Online <br />program are expected to submit completed <br />academic activities for the online portion of the <br />program. <br />Absent -The student will be considered absent if <br />s/he fails to attend the assigned class session. <br />For Hybrid and Online Programs, the lack of an <br />academic activity for a given day will result in an <br />absence for that day. <br />Student Attendance Record Monitoring <br />Students are required to check their daily <br />attendance records in the student portal in order <br />to ensure his/her attendance was recorded <br />accurately. In the event that a student's <br />attendance was not recorded accurately, the <br />student must immediately notify the Registrar <br />and/or Director of Education in order to have the <br />attendance record corrected. If a student does <br />not report an issue relating to an attendance <br />record within two school days from the date of <br />attendance, the presumption is that the <br />attendance record is complete and accurate and <br />the student's right to appeal is waived. <br />Inaccuracies in attendance that have not been <br />checked and corrected may have a detrimental <br />impact on a student's academic good standing. <br />Student Attendance Monitoring <br />Students will be informed, on a regular and timely <br />basis, of their progress in meeting the standards <br />of attendance. Student attendance will be <br />monitored on a daily basis and students must be <br />informed of their attendance on a weekly basis. <br />Students must be advised within the first <br />opportunity after a missed class (the first missed <br />academic activity in the online portion of the <br />program) to discuss and implement actions and <br />options to remedy absenteeism. <br />Student attendance will also be monitored each <br />module. At the end of a student's module, a <br />progress report will be automatically generated <br />by the Electronic Student Database (ESD) and <br />sent via email to the student. The progress report <br />will include the student's current cumulative <br />attendance rate. <br />
