<br />Page | A-2 <br /> <br />MCFADDEN AVENUE PROTECTED BIKE LANE AND <br />BICYCLE BOULEVARD PROJECT <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> JOE OSTDIEK, PE, TE <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEERING <br />EDUCATION Mr. Ostdiek is a Senior Signal and Lighting Design Engineer with <br />twenty years of experience in the layout, design, and estimating of <br />modifications to existing and new signals, street plighting plans, <br />striping plans, and signing plans. Mr. Ostdiek is well versed in the <br />California Department of Transportation Signal, Lighting and Striping <br />design and requirements. Mr. Ostdiek also has extensive knowledge <br />and experience with the Americans with Disabilities Act and <br />California Accessibility Standards. <br />EXPERIENCE San Pablo Avenue, Phases 1 and 2, Palm Desert, CA │ As senior <br />engineer Mr. Ostdiek made recommendations for traffic signal <br />modifications and lighting improvements including intersection, <br />roundabout, decorative, and in-pavement roadway lighting. Mr. <br />Ostdiek was responsible for oversight of the PS&E development, as <br />well as the selection of fixtures and writing of electrical specifications <br />for this project. <br />SR 67 at Poway Road Traffic Signal Modification, Poway, CA│ <br />Traffic Signal Design Engineer for the modification of the existing <br />traffic signal at the popular Iron Mountain Trailhead near the <br />intersection of SR 67 at Poway Road. Coordination with the City staff <br />to prepare the park and ride plans was needed to ensure signing, <br />striping, and traffic signal improvements did not impede on any <br />adjacent park and ride improvements. <br />Latrobe Road Improvements, El Dorado County, CA │ This <br />project improved Latrobe Road over Carson Creek for local street <br />improvements for the County of El Dorado. Latrobe Road was a two- <br />lane facility widened to four lanes, with a 16-foot-wide median, <br />signalization, Class II bike lanes and Class I bike trail. Mr. Ostdiek <br />was responsible for the PS&E, as well as writing the electrical <br />specifications for this project. <br />Johnny Cash Trail and Bicycle/Pedestrian Overcrossing, Folsom, CA │ This project constructed a Class I bike/pedestrian trail <br />from the Historic Truss Bridge to Green Valley Road. A majority of <br />the trail alignment is within the Folsom Prison property. This project <br />required careful planning of drainage design to avoid right of way and <br />tree impacts, utility coordination, and meeting the safety and security <br />needs of the prison. Mr. Ostdiek was responsible for the incorporation <br />of aesthetic features that met the City’s vision of a signature crossing, <br />were buildable, and fit within the available funding. <br />West Capitol Avenue Streetscape Improvements, West Sacramento, CA │ This project reduced West Capitol Avenue from <br />six lanes to four, including wider sidewalks, bicycle lanes, <br />reconfigured traffic lanes, utility upgrades and relocations, new <br />lighting, and substantial planting and hardscape treatments. The <br />street was beautified with landscaping, public seating and streetlights <br />for both vehicles and pedestrian traffic. Joe was responsible for traffic <br />preparing all traffic signals improvements, streetlighting <br />improvements including temporary lighting.
