. . . . . . . . . . <br />TAMIEN PARK, SAN JOSE <br />Project Description: Verde Design was selected by the City <br />of San Jose (City) to provide two concept plans, a preferred <br />concept, construction documents, bidding, and construction <br />assistance for the City's Tamien Park. Included in Phase <br />1 of the 3.67-acre park design, is a new parking lot, a pre- <br />fabricated restroom/storage building, security lighting with <br />power outlets, shade structures, picnic and play opportunities. <br />Additional features of the park include a post -tension slab <br />basketball court, synthetic turf volleyball court, youth play <br />area, game tables, ornamental fencing, stone pilasters, <br />signage, pervious and impervious paving, site -specific <br />improvements, drought -tolerant planting, and an MWELO- <br />compliant pump and irrigation system that is designed to be <br />switched over to recycled water when it becomes available. <br />In Spring 2021, Verde Design completed Phase 11 additions <br />to the park, which included a natural grass multi -use field <br />with accompanying shade structures, perimeter all-weather <br />walking/running path, and field netting. An outdoor fitness/ <br />exercise area is provided with additional seating and shade. <br />The park is designed to have direct linkage to the train station <br />upon build out. A perimeter pathway encompasses the new <br />field with raised planting beds.
