Stormwater Channel Fencing Upgrades Phase II Project <br />April 5, 2022 <br />Page 2 <br />Avenue to McFadden Avenue) and the C-5-F Channel (Harbor Boulevard to Corta Drive) <br />(Exhibit 1). The existing chain link fencing along City -owned stormwater channels is <br />dilapidated and subject to trespassing. The installation of the new secure fencing will <br />reduce water pollution, enhance public safety, and improve the aesthetics of stormwater <br />channels. <br />Public Outreach and Contractor Participation <br />To provide an opportunity for local vendors to submit bids, a Notice Inviting Bids was <br />advertised in the Orange County Register newspaper on January 7 and January 14, 2022. <br />The project was also advertised on PlanetBids, and bids were received electronically via <br />PlanetBids on February 1, 2022. <br />The City notified a total of 1,436 regional vendors via PlanetBids, 83 of which are Santa <br />Ana based. Forty-six vendors requested bidding documents. A total of 10 bids were <br />received.
