2. All clearing, demolition and earthwork activities shall cease during the period of <br />high winds (winds greater than 20 mph averaged over one hour) or during Stage 1 <br />or Stage 2 smog episodes. <br />3. All material transported offsite shall either be sufficiently watered or securely <br />covered to prevent excessive amounts of dust. <br />4. The area disturbed by clearing, demolition and earthwork activities shall be <br />minimized at all times. <br />5. Equipment engines shall be maintained in good condition and in proper tune <br />according to manufacturer's specifications and in conformance with Rule 403. <br />6. To the extent feasible, gasoline powered equipment shall be used for onsite <br />construction activities. <br />H. Noise Abatement <br />1. The Contractor shall comply with the City of Santa Ana Noise Ordinance. <br />2. The proj ect site is surrounded by business. Therefore, all work outside of normal daytime <br />work hours shall meet or exceed the City's Noise Ordinance. The Contractor shall <br />implement noise mitigation measures to meet all of the City's noise requirements. <br />3. The Contractor will be required to employ, but not limited to, such noise mitigation <br />measures as generator silencers, acoustical enclosures, mufflers, noise barriers, acoustical <br />panels and blankets, as necessary. <br />4. During all excavation, demolition, and construction activities on -site, the Contractor shall <br />equip all construction equipment, fixed or mobile, with properly operating and maintained <br />mufflers, consistent with manufacturers' standards. <br />5. The Contractor shall place all stationary construction equipment so that emitted noise is <br />directed away from the noise sensitive receptors nearest the project site. <br />6. The Contractor shall locate equipment staging areas that will create the greatest distance <br />between construction -related noise sources and noise sensitive receptors nearest the <br />project site during all construction activities. <br />I. Geotechnical Considerations <br />A report for the "Geotechnical Design Report for the SR-55 Improvement Project Between 1-405 <br />and 1-5" dated revised July 19, 2019 has been prepared for the the Freeway Widening Project and <br />is relevant to this project as well. The Contractor shall be familiar with the report and the <br />recommendations contained therein.
