NATIONAL REGISTRY PROCESS <br />If an Emergency Medical Technician ("EMT') student has successfully completed their didactic (classroom) portion of the program <br />and the two externship/cllnical rotations and Is current on any applicable tuition payment plan may be eligible to take the National <br />Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Cognitive Exam, This exam is administered at an off -site 3rd party testing <br />facility. An exam application will be facilitated on campus by an Instructor and the Program Director to help the student correctly <br />complete the application and to properly affiliate the application to our program. Once the application Is complete, the student <br />Is responsible to pay an $98.00 exam fee to the NREMT through their website at <br />https;//www nremt org/rwd/public/document/emt. This fee Is not covered in the EMT tuition cost and all students applying to take <br />this exam are responsible for paying the exam fee, <br />STATE CERTIFICATION PROCESS <br />Upon successful completion of the NREMT Cognitive Exam, the student will receive a letter and card certifying them as an <br />Emergency Medical Technician. The student may then send this card, along with an application and application fee to the state <br />In which they wish to provide emergency medical care, The NREMT card gives them reciprocity In all 50 states as well as the <br />associated territories. Students wishing to provide emergency medical care In California can accomplish this by applying directly <br />through the county website In which they desire to work, Successful applicants are eligible to work In the California County they <br />applied through, If the EMT desires to practice in multiple counties, they would need to submit their credentials to each county <br />they desire to practice In, along with any additional required fees per county. <br />Below are the combined state/county fees for Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties.
