NURSE ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM (NATP) <br />program version Effective for students Starting on and afterAprif 24, 2023 <br />In this program, students will learn the basic responsibilities of the nurse assistant and the duties performed on the Job, as well <br />as documentation skills, admission, discharge, and transfer procedures. This course also presents the concepts and skills for <br />nursing assistant and meets the California standards and requirements. The program consists of 60 hours classroom/didactic, <br />and 100 hours of externship/clinical. The course represents all 17 modules required bythe state of California. Topics include (but <br />are not limited to) patient rights, Interpersonal skills, prevention management of catastrophe and unusual occurrences, body <br />mechanics, medical and surgical asepsis (Infection control), welghts and measures, patient care skills and procedures, vital signs, <br />nutrition, emergency procedures, long-term care and rehabilitative nursing, observation and charting, and death and dying. <br />Upon successful completion of the didactic part of the program, students will participate in a hands-on experience In the field <br />working under the direction of their Instructor, in a clinical facility.
