To callously throw around words like genocide, ethnic cleansing and "never again" is disparaging and offensive to all those who were killed in the Holocaust. The IDF is a moral army and is fighting with considerable restraint. No such restraint is evident anywhere in the world —let alone this troubled area of the world. What other army makes phone calls, drops leaflets and knocks on the rooftops to tell civilians in harm's way to evacuate areas due to terrorist activity, thereby losing the element of surprise to save civilians? Further, the IDF creates safe zones and evacuation routes with maps for civilians in order to try to protect them. This Resolution admonishes Israel as it attempts to defend itself from a war that it did not start and from an enemy that uses its own population as human shields while it hides in its network of terror tunnels. The bias in the resolution is blatant. The Israeli men, women and children that were kidnapped and dragged to Gaza against their will are HOSTAGES. The men women and children convicted of crimes, awaiting trial, or caught committing acts of violence or terrorism in Israel are PRISONERS. To call prisoners "hostages" is disingenuous. Further, to equate civilian casualties of war with intentional murder of civilians is immoral. There are numerous other inaccuracies and distortions in the Resolution. The Resolution refer to Gaza as "occupied". The only occupier is Hamas. Hamas has controlled all of Gaza since 2007. Arab Israelis that live in Israel have full rights and serve in all aspects of the government. What would happen if Jews attempted to live in Gaza?
