DATE <br />Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble - "Cantos, Cuentos and Corridos of Santa Ana" <br />Project Timeline 2 023-2 02 4 <br />ACTION <br />- Participants In each group will participate In a <br />facilitated "Story Circle" that include specific theatre <br />games and questions to be explored focused on <br />Santa Ana to encourage story gathering. <br />Additionally, "The People's Guide To Orange <br />County" chapter on Santa Ana will be used as <br />inspiration and or use to build a song from. <br />.rticipants will vote on the top three to six <br />nes/ ideas shared from the circle . Participants <br />encouraged to consider collaborating with other <br />Icipants on final drafts of songs <br />Participants will be Introduced to a writing process <br />rat includes story building, songwriting, song <br />tructure, corridos, and an introduction to a critical <br />asponse process to help collect and offer <br />onstructive and motivating feedback In creative <br />- Participants share back their drafts and decide / <br />contribute how each writer/group sees/hears the <br />song, genre / style/ structure, how its played, <br />potential to include ones own playing or singing. <br />Wrap up next steps for second workshop <br />- Participants will share/ gain knowledge of the <br />histories, stories, events, and the people of Santa <br />Ana <br />the sharing stories, participants see <br />s in each other <br />- Through the theatre exercises, participants will <br />play, work, and or collaborate with each other <br />- From the voted Items participants will be guided <br />to write on one of these topics. Participants Identify <br />potential collaborators. A song from each of these <br />categories will be potentially selected to be <br />finalized for the culmination <br />- Participants will gain knowledge and skills in 1. <br />story writing, songwriting / corridos, 2. History of <br />the "Corddo" 3. Constructive giving and getting <br />feedback on work In progress and help motivate <br />the next draft help collect and offer constructive <br />and motivating feedback In creative work 3. Seeing <br />themselves as creatives In a supportive <br />Participants will have drafted their story for their <br />eventual new sonal corrldo <br />will have a final draft of the <br />- Faclliators gather participants 1st draft and <br />participants notes to prep for for the next wor <br />- Participants take note of what to bring next, <br />expect <br />Song Structure Drafts: Faciliators bring/ share back - Participants review "Structure Drafts" and <br />"Structure Drafts" with some music samples samples with facilitators to modify, adjust, and <br />finalize the draft of the song <br />- Participants take away what they will need to do <br />rehearse/practice for next workshop: online demos, <br />lyrics to learn, keys to listen to, and or what to play <br />Putting it Together (Part 1) - Participants return prepared and supported by <br />facilitators to work together to bring songs to life. <br />Rough runs. Additional adjustments made/needed <br />- participants may also perform the songs via <br />acapella or acoustically <br />- First recordings are made of the selected songs <br />
