A-28 <br /> <br />ELEMENT REF # EJ IMPLEMENTATION ACTION AGENCY TIME <br />FRAME 2023 UPDATE <br />compliant and become eligible for other <br />business grants. <br />Economic <br />Prosperity <br />3.2 No Economic development ombudsman. <br />Pursue funding and establish an <br />ombudsman position in the Economic <br />Development Division to assist new <br />businesses in navigating the building and <br />permitting processes. <br />CDA 2022 Economic Development Division <br />collaborates with Planning & Building, <br />Public Works Agency, and OC Fire <br />Authority to continuously improve the <br />building/permitting process for <br />businesses. <br />Economic <br />Prosperity <br />3.3 No Business outreach and retention. <br />Continue to support existing business <br />attraction and retention programs. <br />Maintain partnerships with the Santa <br />Ana Chamber of Commerce and other <br />nonprofit organizations. Continue to <br />reach out to national retailers and <br />employers. <br />CDA Ongoing The Economic Development Division <br />continues to partner with organizations <br />such as the Santa Ana Chamber of <br />Commerce and Travel Santa Ana for <br />business retention and attraction <br />activities. Furthermore, CDA <br />participates in tradeshows such as the <br />International Council of Shopping <br />Centers (ICSC), CalEd, OC Hispanic <br />Chamber of Commerce, and the Santa <br />Ana WORK Center to reach out to <br />national retailers and employers. CDA <br />has been successful in attracting <br />medium and large block businesses to <br />lease or purchase large commercial <br />sites.
