WORK PLAN

3. Specifications

ASL will provide the technical specification portion of the special provisions and a list
of bid items. It is our understanding that the City will provide the contract documents
and "boiler plate" portion of the specifications.

Specifications will be prepared using Microsoft Word 97 format. The final submittal
to the City will include a hard copy and a computer disc of the specifications.

Construction Phase Support

ASL will provide construction phase support to the City during the bidding,
construction and final start-up phases of the project.

ao

ASL ~vill respond to questions during the bidding phase and prepare Addenda
if required. We have assumed one 4 to 6 week bidding period.

b. ASL
staff.

will attend the pre-construction meeting with th.e contractor and City

Co

ASL will review shop drawings, equipment specifications, samples and
submittals for compliance with the plans and specifications. We have assumed
that 15 to 20 submittals will be required. Submittals will be reviewed and
returned within 10 working days.

ASL will respond in writing to all Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide
clarifications of the plans and specifications. We have assumed that
approximately 10 to 15 RFIs will be generated on this type of project. In
addition, we have assumed that two (2) RFIs could result in plan revisions.

eo

ASL will evaluate and respond to contractor's request for change orders. We
have assumed that 2 to 3 change orders could be required on this project.

ASL will provide periodic site visits during construction to review progress
and attend construction meetings. We estimate that the total contract time will
be approximately seven (7) months broken down as follows:

· Submittals and Reviews 2 months
· Material Procurement 2 months
· Installation 2 months
· Touch Up and Final Acceptance 1 month

ASL Consulting Engineers

City of Santa Ana
ELEVATED WATER TANK IMPROVEMENTS 4
