The new tank was constructed at the same location as <br />the existing tank, on a concrete footing ring and included seismic <br />holddowns anchors to reduce the chance of future earthquake damages. <br />This project was FEMA funded. <br /> <br />Developed seismic rehabilitation/repair program for the City's water <br />facilities damaged as a result of the Whittier Narrows earthquake of <br />October 1987. This included eleven concrete and steel reservoirs of <br />various configurations and types and five booster station buildings and <br />pumping plants. Our services included field investigation, design <br />analysis, and repair/rehabilitation recommendations. <br /> <br />ASL performed on-site seismic damage assessments for several steel <br />water reservoirs affected by the Landers earthquake of June 28, 1992. <br />These included the following: <br /> <br />· Star Pine Tank, Duarte, CA: 250,000 gallon flat bottom steel tank <br />· High Mesa Tank, Duarte, CA: 250,000 gallon flat bottom steel tank <br />· Oak Knoll Circle Tank, Pasadena, CA: 60,000 gallon elevated steel <br /> tank <br />· Mariposa Tank, Temple City, CA: 100,000 gallon elevated steel <br /> tank <br />· Lamanda Tank, Pasadena, CA: 100,000 gallon elevated steel tank <br /> <br />As a follow-up to ASL's site assessments, a report was prepared <br />describing our site observations, conclusions and recommendations for <br />repairs.
