(3) <br /> <br />A wall sign with individual letters applied directly <br />shall be measured by drawing a rectangular line around <br />the outside of the lettering and/or the pictorial symbol <br />and calculating the area enclosed by such line. <br /> <br />Example of drawing a rectangular line around letters to <br />establish area of sign: <br /> <br />: : ADJAX CO~PANY ' <br />B : : <br />: : OF CALIFORNIA : <br /> <br />A x B = Area of Wall Sign <br /> <br /> (4) Signs shall not be permitted to extend above the top of <br /> the building to which they are affixed and no sign shall <br /> be placed on the roof of any building. <br /> (5) Only one single faced or double faced sign shall be <br /> permitted on each site. No sign shall exceed one square <br /> foot in area for each 600 square feet of the site. Such <br /> sign shall not exceed 200 square feet for each face of <br /> the sign, with the exception of gas station signs which <br /> will be allowed a maximum size of 125 square feet for <br /> any one sign face and a composite total of 150 square <br /> feet for all gas station signs. An additional 20 square <br /> feet for each business conducted on the site will be <br /> permitted. An additional sign advertising sale, lease, <br /> or hire of the site or building shall be permitted but <br /> shall not exceed 100 square feet. <br /> (6) Ground signs shall not exceed 12 feet in height, with <br /> the exception of gas station signs which may have a <br /> maximum of 25 feet. In no case shall a sign interfere <br /> with or impede the visibility of pedestrians and <br /> motorists. <br /> (f) There shall be erected and maintained a solid wall not less <br />than 8 feet in height along the rear or side lot line where said rear <br />or side lot line abuts property situated in any R District. <br /> (g) Public utility electric distribution and transmission sub- <br />stations shall be enclosed within a solid wall or chain link fence <br />not less than 6 feet in height. <br /> (h) Any persons building, erecting, altering, or replacing any <br />article, machine, equipment, or other contrivance, the use of which <br />may cause the issuance of air contaminents, shall present to the <br />Planning Department, prior to the issuance of a building permit, a <br />written statement from the Office of the Air Pollution Control <br />Officer of the Air Pollution Control District of Orange County <br />confirming that said use complies with the current regulations of <br />the Air Pollution Control District. <br /> (i) All production activities shall be visually screened from <br />the street and adjacent properties. <br /> <br />Section 9230.324. Building HeiGht. <br /> NO building shall exceed in height the equivalent of one-half the <br />distance from the building to the nearest residential zone. <br /> <br />Section 9230.325. Bui~dinq Site Area. <br /> Each building site shall contain not less than fifteen thousand <br />(15,000) square feet and shall have not less than one hundred (100) <br />feet of frontage on a public street, measured at the setback line. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
