shrubbery, <br />wall. <br /> <br />SECTION 8111. Pool Fence Required. <br /> section 1505 is hereby amended by adding the following <br />paragraphs to read as follows: <br /> POOL FENCE REQUIRED. Every swimming pool, pond, or other <br /> body of water eighteen (18) inches or more in depth at any <br /> point shall be surrounded by a fence or wall not less than <br /> five (5) feet above the adjacent exterior grade. Such fence <br /> or wall shall be constructed and maintained with no openings <br /> nor projections which could serve as a means to climb or scale <br /> the same and shall be sufficient distance from any structure, <br /> or grade which could be used to scale the fence or <br /> <br />EXCEPTION: A full height standard type of chain link fence, <br /> with diamond mesh not larger in size than 2" x 2" <br /> may be approved by the Building Official. <br /> <br /> Gates and doors opening through such enclosure shall be <br />self-closing and self-latching with release on pool side only <br />or not less than five (5) feet above the exterior grade. A <br />building wall may be used as part of such enclosure. Openings <br />in the building wall are not required to be self-closing nor <br />self-latching if such opening is into a dwelling or apartment. <br /> <br />SECTION 8112. Exception for Minor Buildinqs. <br /> Section 1603(a) is hereby amended by adding an exception after <br />the second paragraph to read as follows: <br /> <br /> EXCEPTION: Fire-resistive construction of exterior walls shall <br /> not be required on detached Group F, G, or J <br /> Occupancy buildings having an area of not more than <br /> four hundred (400) square feet when such building <br /> is ten (10) feet or more from adjacent property line <br /> and not less than ten (10) feet from any building <br /> on the same building site. <br /> <br />SECTION 8113. Toilet Compartments. <br /> Section 1711(a) is hereby amended by amending the first sentence <br />thereof to read as follows: <br /> The floors and walls of toilet compartments in Groups A <br /> through G Occupancies, and those in public toilet compartments <br /> in Group H, I, and J Occupancies, and all floors and walls <br /> within two (2) feet of the front and sides of urinals shall <br /> be finished with a smooth, hard, non-absorbent surface of <br /> Portland cement or approved equal. <br /> <br />SECTION 8114. Shower Areas. <br /> Section 1711(b) is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> (b) SHOWER AREAS. Shower stalls and bathtub enclosures used <br /> as shower stalls shall be plastered with Portland cement plaster <br /> as required for the first two coats of exterior work. Such <br /> plaster shall be carried to a height of not less than six (6) <br /> feet above the drain outlet and across the full width of the <br /> door jamb. In the case of tub enclosures, such plaster shall <br /> be carried at least four (4) inches beyond the outer edge of <br /> the tub. Metal reinforcement and backing shall be as required <br /> for exterior plaster in Chapter 47. <br /> <br /> EXCEPTION: This Section shall not apply to approved prefabri- <br /> cated shower enclosures. <br /> <br />SECTION 8115. Partition Load. <br /> Section 2302(b) is hereby amended by adding a second sentence <br />to the third paragraph to read as follows: <br /> The partition load shall be included in the determination <br /> of lateral forces. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
