CHAPTER 2 - PLUMBING CODE <br /> <br />SECTION 8200. Adoption of the Uniform Plumbinq Code. 1964 Edition. <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City that certain code known as <br />the WESTERN PLUMBING OFFICIALS UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE - 1964 EDITION <br />and the whole thereof, including Appendices A through F, <br />except such portions as are hereinafter amended, of which Code not <br />less than three (3) copies have been and now are on file in the <br />office of the Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana, and <br />said Plumbing Code is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as <br />if set forth at length herein as provided for in Section 419 of the <br />Charter of the City of Santa Ana, and from the date on which this <br />Chapter shall take effect the provisions thereof, subject to the <br />amendments hereinafter set forth, shall be in effect within the <br />City Limits, and this Code shall be known as the PLUMBING CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA. <br /> <br />SECTION 8201. Administrative AuthoNitv. <br /> Section 1.1 is amended to read as follows: <br /> Whenever the term "administrative authority" is used in this <br /> Code, it shall be construed to mean the Director of Building <br /> Safety of the City of Santa Aha or his authorized representative. <br /> <br />SECTION 8202. Assistants. <br /> Section 1.2 is amended to read as follows: <br /> Whenever the term "assistants" is used in this Code it shall <br /> be construed to mean the Senior Plumbing Inspector, Plumbing <br /> Inspector, or other inspector of the Department of Building <br /> Safety and Housing of the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br />SECTION 8203. Department Havinq Jurisdiction. <br /> Section 1.3 is amended to read as follows: <br /> Unless otherwise provided for by law, the office of the <br /> Administrative Authority shall be part of the Department of <br /> Building Safety and Housing of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />SECTION 8204. Duties of Administrative Authority. <br /> Section 1.4 is amended by deleting subsection 1.4(10). <br /> <br />SECTION 8205. Violations and Penalties. <br /> Section 1.7 is amended by changing the first sentence of the <br />first paragraph to read as follows: <br /> Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the <br /> provisions of thus code shall be deemed to be guilty of a <br /> misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by <br /> a fine of not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by <br /> imprisonment in the County Jail for not to exceed six (6) months, <br /> or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br />SECTION 8206. To Whom Permits May Be Issued. <br /> Section 1.10 is amended to read as follows: <br /> (a) No permit shall be issued to any person to do or cause <br /> to be done any plumbing or drainage work regulated by this code <br /> except when and as hereinafter provided in this section. <br /> (b) A permit may be issued to any properly licensed person <br /> not acting in violation of any current contractor licensing law <br /> for the installation, alteration, or repair of water piping, <br /> water treatment equipment, private sewage disposal systems and <br /> building sewers connecting thereto. <br /> (c) Any permit required by this code may be issued to any <br /> person to do any plumbing or drainage work regulated by this <br /> code in a single family dwelling used exclusively for living <br /> purposes, including the usual accessory buildings and quarters <br /> in connection with such buildings, in the event that any such <br /> <br />-7- <br /> <br /> <br />
