(1) Non-metallic and ferrous piping shall be prohibited; except that ferrous piping may be used when protected against corrosion and installed in channels, tubes, or in similar protective manner when approved by the Administrative Authority. SECTION 19: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-402 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-402. Buildinq Supply Pipe. Section 1009(h) of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1967 Edition, is amended by adding the following language at the end thereof: No building supply pipe shall be less than three- quarter (3/4) inch in diameter and not less than one (1) inch for each single family residential structure. Each main building shall have a minimum of two (2) three-quarter (3/4) inch hose bibbs located one readily accessible to the front yard and one readily accessible to the rear yard. SECTION 20: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-410 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-410. Building Supply Pipe. Table 10-2 footnote of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1967 Edition, is amended to read as follows: **Building Supply - 3/4" minimum - 1" minimum for each single family residential structure. SECTION 21: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-420 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-420. Cleanouts. Section l107(a) of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1967 Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the second sentence. SECTION 22: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-440 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-440. Gas Fired Water Heater; Approval .Requirements. Section 1305 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, is amended to read as follows: 1967 Edition, Sec. 1305--Gas Fired Water Heater Approval Requirements. (a) Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, gas fired water heaters and gas fired hot water boilers shall conform to approved recognized applicable standards or to other standards acceptable to the Administrative Authority. Each such water heater or boiler shall bear the label of an approved testing agency certifying and attesting that such equipment has been tested and inspected and meets the requirements of applicable standards. (b) Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, or when reconditioned by the manufacturer or his approved agent in accordance with its original approval requirements and reinstalled at its original location,.each reconditioned water heater or hot water boiler shall be tested for safety and conformity to approved standards and shall bear the label of an approved testing agency certifying and attesting that such equipment has been tested and inspected and meets -13-
