TEMPORARY SIGN <br /> <br />A sign which is intended to advertise <br />community or civic projects, con- <br />struction projects, real estate for <br />sale or lease, or other special <br />events on a temporary basis. <br /> <br />UNDER MARQUEE SIGN <br /> <br />A lighted or unlighted display <br />attached to the underside of a <br />marquee protruding over public or <br />private sidewalks or rights of way <br />and shall not exceed 16 square feet. <br /> <br />UNIFORM BUILDING CODE <br /> <br />That edition of the UnifOrm Building <br />Code that has been officially adopted <br />by the municipality and as it becomes <br />related to these guidelines as <br />regarding construction standards, <br />approved materials and projection <br />standards unless otherwise specified <br />herein. <br /> <br />UNIFORM SIGN CODE <br /> <br />The current edition of the Uniform <br />Sign Code as published by the <br />International Council of Building <br />Officials. <br /> <br />WALL SIGN <br /> <br />A sign which is in any manner affixed <br />to any exterior wall or a building or <br />structure and which projects not more <br />than eighteen (18) inches from the <br />building or structure wall and which <br />does not extend more than six (6) fee~ <br />above the parapet, eaves, or building <br />facade of the building on which it <br />is located. <br /> <br />ZONING OR LAND USE <br /> <br />The land use district established <br />by the authorized legislative body. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-619.3. General Provisions. <br /> A. The name of the person, firm or entity which represents <br />the owner of a sign, the date the sign was constructed, and the <br />~uilding permit number shall be securely placed on said sign. <br />B. No animated signs shall be erected or maintained in the <br />following land use districts: RE, R 1, R 2, R 3, R 3H, and R 4. <br /> <br /> C. No animated signs shall be erected or maintained closer <br />than seventy-five (75) feet from any residential land use district <br />on which there exists structures used for residential purposes. <br />Animated signs may or may not be permitted closer than three <br />hundred (300) feet to residentially zoned property subject to the <br />issuance of an approved conditional use permit. This provision <br />shall not include time and temperature devices. <br /> D. Marquee signs may be placed on, attached to, or constructed <br />in a marquee. For purposes of determining height, projection and <br />clearance, tables as specified in the Uniform Building Code for <br />marquees shall govern. <br /> D. Copy area of a building facade facing shall not exceed <br />forty (40) percent of the background area to which it is applied. <br />In no case shall copy area exceed thirty (30) percent of the <br />building facade. <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br /> <br />
