O. In computing background area in square feet, standard <br />mathematical formulae for known or common shapes will be used. <br />In the case of irregular shapes, straight lines drawn closest <br />to the extremities of the shape will be used. On signs with <br />more than one face, only that face or those faces visible from <br />any one direction at one time will be counted. <br /> <br /> P. In computing copy area, straight lines drawn closest to <br />any copy extremities encompassing individual letters or words <br />shall be used. <br /> <br /> Q. No sign may revolve more than 8 RPM. <br /> <br /> R. Signs may project over the property lines as outlined in <br /> <br />the following table: <br /> <br /> Clearance <br /> Less than 8' <br /> 8' <br /> 8' to 16' <br /> <br /> Over 16' <br /> <br /> Maximum Protection <br />Not permitted <br />1' <br />1' plus 6" for each foot of <br /> clearance in excess of 8' <br />5' <br /> <br /> S. The supporting members of a roof sign shall appear to be <br />free of any extra bracing, angle iron, guy wires, cables, etc. <br />The supports shall appear to be an architectural and integral <br />part of the building. Supporting columns of round, square or <br />shaped steel members may be erected if required bracing, visible <br />to the public, is minimized or covered. <br /> T. Maximum sign height shall not exceed the height limit of <br />the district in which the sign is located. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-619.4. Sign Standards by Land Use District. <br /> Signs shall be provided for by stated types in each land use <br />District according to the following standards: <br /> 1. A 1, RE and R 1 Districts <br /> <br /> A. Temporary Sign <br /> One unlighted sign not exceeding six (6) square feet <br /> in area nor six (6) feet in overall height and advertising <br /> only the following: <br /> (a) Property for sale or lease and pertinent informa- <br /> tion regarding sale or lease; <br /> (b) Construction information, providing this sign is <br /> removed prior to final building inspection. <br /> <br /> B. Signs Required by Law <br /> Signs required by law shall include legal notices or <br />advertisement prescribed by law or posted by any lawful officer <br />or agent and signs such as: "permission to pass is revocable", <br />"beware of the dog", "no solicitors", etc. <br /> <br />2. R 2, R 3~ R 3H and R 4 Districts <br /> <br />A. Temporary Sign <br /> Same as A 1, RE and R 1 <br /> <br />B. Signs Required by Law <br /> Same as A 1, RE and R 1 <br /> <br />(20) <br /> <br /> zones <br /> <br /> zones <br /> <br />C. One (1) lighted or unlighted sign a maximum of twenty <br />square feet in area identifying any permitted uses. <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
