Same - issuance. <br /> <br /> Permits may be issued only to a person, firm or cor- <br />poration licensed by the state in the classification authorized <br />to perfor~ the work and subject to the conditions and limitations <br />of such classification, or to a person, firm, or corporation <br />qualifying under section 8-714, or to an owner qualifying under <br />section 8-715. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-713. Same - applications. <br /> <br /> Applications for electrical permits, describing the <br />work to be done, shall be made in writing to the director of <br />building safety. The application shall be accompanied by such <br />plans, specifications and schedules as may be necessary to deter- <br />mine whether the installations as described will be in conformity <br />with the requirements of the sections in this code pertaining to <br />electricity. If it shall be found that the installation as des- <br />cribed will conform to all legal requirements, and if the appli- <br />cant has complied with the provisions of the sections in this <br />code pertaining to electricity, a permit for such installation <br />may be issued upon receipt of fees therefor, as prescribed in <br />section 8-722. No deviation may be made from the installation <br />described in the permit without the written approval of the <br />director of building safety. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-714. Same - annual permits. <br /> <br /> An annual permit may be issued to any person, firm, <br />or corporation regularly employing a maintenance electrician <br />approved by the director of building safety. The maintenance <br />electrician may install, alter, maintain, or repair electrical <br />wiring in or on buildings or premises owned or occupied by his <br />employer and shall keep a detailed record of all such work. <br />Within fifteen (15) days following the end of each calendar <br />month, the maintenance electrician shall file an application <br />accompanied by regular fees and obtain an electrical permit <br />for all electrical work accomplished during the preceding month. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-715. Same - license requirement. <br /> <br /> As a condition to the issuance of an electrical per- <br />mit, the applicant must s~gn a statement that he is licensed <br />under the provisions of the California Business and Professions <br />Code, Division 3, Chapter 9 (Contractor's License Law) giving <br />the number of the valid license, or, if the applicant is exempt <br />fr~m the provisions of this chapter, the basis for the alleged <br />exemption. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-716. Same - commencement of work. <br /> <br /> No electrical work for which a permit is required <br />shall be commenced in any building or premises until a permit <br />to do such work shall have been first obtained. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-717. Same - penalty. <br /> <br /> Failure to obtain a permit and pay fees therefor <br />before commencing work shall be deemed evidence of violation <br />of the provisions of this code. Double the amount of permit <br />fee shall be assessed for work commenced before a permit is <br />issued. <br /> <br /> <br />
