ORDINANCE NO. NS-1416 <br />PAGE FIVE <br /> <br />Sec. 8-728. Hidden installations. <br /> <br /> When any part of a wiring installation is to be <br />hidden from view, the person, firm or corporation installing <br />the wiring shall notify the director of building safety and <br />such parts of the wiring installation shall not be concealed <br />until they have been inspected and approved by the director <br />of building safety. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-729. Inspections and corrections. <br /> <br /> Upon completion of the work which has been autho- <br />rized by issuance of any permit, except an annual permit, it <br />shall be the duty of the person, firm, or corporation installing <br />the same to notify the director of building safety who shall <br />inspect the installation as soon thereafter as practicable. <br />If, upon inspection, the installation is not found to be in con- <br />formity with the provisions of this code, the director of build- <br />ing safety shall notify the person, firm, or corporation making <br />the installation, stating the defects which have been found to <br />exist. All defects shall be corrected within ten (10) days <br />after inspection and notification, or within other reasonable <br />time as permitted by the director of building safety. No <br />electrical installation shall be energized until inspected and <br />approved by the director of building safety. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-730. Temporary connections. <br /> <br /> When authorizing the connection and use of temporary <br />or incomplete work, such authorization shall expire at a time <br />to be stated by the director of building safety. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-740. Standards for the installation of <br /> electrical equipment. <br /> <br /> Ail electrical installations;industrial, commercial, <br />and residential, within the governmental jurisdiction covered <br />by this chapter shall be in conformity with the provisions of <br />this article, all applicable State laws, and National Fire Pro- <br />tective Association standards for safety to life and property. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-741. Approval of equipment. <br /> <br /> Ail appliances and equipment shall be listed and labeled <br />by a nationally recognized testing laboratory equal to but not <br />limited to Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc., and approved by the <br />director of building safety. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-742. Used materials. <br /> <br /> Previously used materials shall not be re-used without <br />the written approval obtained in advance from the director of <br />building safety. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-743. Nameplates. <br /> <br /> The maker's nameplate, trademark, or other identifi- <br />cation symbol shall be placed on the outside where it is visible <br />at time of inspection on all electrical materials, devices, <br />appliances, fittings and equipment used or installed under the <br />provisior~of this code. <br /> <br /> <br />
