ORDINANCE NO. NS-1416 <br />PAGE SIX <br /> <br />Sec. 8-747. Underground installations <br /> <br /> Whenever any property is developed with new or <br />relocated buildings or structures; or whenever floor area <br />in excess of fifty percent (50%) of the existing floor <br />area is added to an existing building; or whenever a resi- <br />dential building or use is converted to any purpose or use <br />other than that which existed at the time of the conversion, <br />all electrical, telephone, community antenna television and <br />similar service wires or cables which provide direct service <br />to the property being developed, added to, or converted, <br />shall, within the exterior boundary lines of such property, <br />be installed underground. Conduits required for telephone <br />or community antenna television shall be installed to <br />utility specifications by the electrical permit holder prior <br />to inspection of electrical conduit. Lots of record as of <br />November 19, 1969, which are developed for R-1 use, are <br />exempted from the requirements of this section. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-765. Same change of occupancy <br /> classification. <br /> <br /> When any building or structure, or portion thereof <br />is placed in a different occupancy classification, those <br />portions directly affected by such occupancy change shall <br />be wired in compliance with the provisions of this article <br />for the new occupancy. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-769. Relocated buildings <br /> <br /> Relocated buildings shall conform to the minimum <br />standards as required in this article for new buildings. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is <br />hereby amended by adding a Division to be numbered 3 to <br />Article V of Chapter 8, said Division to consist of sections <br />numbered 8-800 through 8-1155 inclusive and to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />DIVISION 3. AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />Sec. 8-803. Purpose (Section 90-1(a)) <br /> <br /> Section 90-1(a) of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended by adding a second sentence to read as follows: <br /> <br />To accomplish this purpose, the requirements <br />set forth in this Electrical Code shall be <br />the minimum standard for electrical install- <br />ations. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-805. Scope (Section 90-2(a)) <br /> <br /> Sec. 90-2(a) of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Covered. This Code shall cover all wiring <br />and equipment installed, used, or maintained <br />except such electrical wiring and equipment <br />expressly exempted from the provisions of this <br />code. <br /> <br /> <br />
