Conductors (Section 110-5) <br /> <br /> Section 110-5 of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended by adding a second sentence to read as follows: <br /> <br />Ail sections of this National Electrical Code <br />allowing the use of aluminum conductors are sub- <br />ject to the limitation that no aluminum conduc- <br />tor smaller than #6 AWG shall be used. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-821. Scope of Article 210 (Section 210-1). <br /> <br /> Section 210-1 of the National Electrical Code is <br />amended by adding paragraphs designated (a) and (b) to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Accessory uses or other buildings, signs, etc. <br />separately located on the same lot or premises <br />shall have connecting conductors run under- <br />ground. (Agricultural areas excepted.) <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Where space circuit protective devices are <br />provided or space for future circuit protec- <br />tive devices is provided on the buss in any <br />flush or semi-flush mounted panel, then <br />raceways of sufficient capacity to permit <br />utilization of such space or spaces shall be <br />provided to an approved accessible location. <br />Such accessible location is normally defined <br />as follows: Where sufficient attic space is <br />available or underfloor space is available, <br />a raceway shall terminate conveniently for <br />future use in each such space. Where this <br />condition does not exist or other factors <br />govern, then such terminations shall be <br />approved by the enforcing authority. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-823. Conductors - Minimum Ampacity and <br /> Size (Section 210-19(c)) <br /> <br /> The first paragraph of section 210-19(c) of the <br />National Electrical Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Other Loads. Branch-circuit conductors supply- <br />ing loads other than cooking appliances as <br />covered in (b) above and as listed in Section <br />210.2 shall have an ampacity sufficient for <br />the loads served and shall not be smaller than <br />No. 12. For the supply of current to general <br />appliance and convenience receptacle circuits, <br />no conductor smaller than No. 12 AWG shall be <br />installed. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-828. Receptacle Outlets Required (Section <br /> 210-25(b)). <br /> <br /> Section 210-25(b) of the National Electrical Code <br />amended by amending the sixth paragraph thereof to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />At least one receptacle outlet shall be installed <br />in each basement, garage, and carport. Garages <br />or carports accessory to dwelling units shall be <br />wired with a minimum of one receptacle per each <br />two auto stalls or fractions thereof. <br /> <br /> Exception: In hotel, motel, and multiple <br />occupancies, garage and carport receptacles may <br />be omitted. <br /> <br /> <br />
