ORDINANCE NO. NS-1416 <br />PAGE EIGHT <br /> <br />Sec. 8-829. Lighting Outlets Required (Section <br /> 210-26(a)). <br /> <br /> The first sentence of Section 210-26(a) of the <br />National Electrical Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />At least one wall switch controlled lighting out- <br />let shall be installed in every habitable room; <br />in hallways, stairways, garages, and carports; <br />and at outdoor entrances. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-839. Feeders (Article 215). <br /> <br /> Article 215 of the National Electrical Code is <br />a~ended by adding a section designated 215-10 thereto to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />215-10. Raceways. Ail feeder conductors shall <br />be installed in an approved raceway. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-843. Branch circuits required (Section <br /> 220-3). <br /> <br /> Section 220-3 of the National Electrical Code is <br />~mended by adding three sentences to the introductory paragraph <br />thereof to read as follows: <br /> <br />No convenience receptacle or appliance receptacle <br />shall be installed or operated on a general light- <br />ing branch circuit at any time in any occupancy. <br />A one-half hot and one-half switched receptacle <br />may be installed on a lighting branch circuit <br />when used as the lighting outlet required for <br />habitable rooms permitted in 210.26(a) Exception <br />NO. 1. A maximum of 12 convenience receptacle <br />outlets or 12 lighting outlets to any one circuit. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-854. Wiring Methods for 600 Volts or Less <br /> (Section 230-43). <br /> <br /> Section 230-43 of the National Electrical Code is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />230-43. Wiring Methods for 600 Volts or Less. <br />Service entrance conductors extending along the <br />exterior or entering buildings or other structures <br />shall be enclosed in rigid metal conduit to the <br />first over current device, or, for circuits not <br />exceeding 600 volts, in wire ways, auxiliary gut- <br />ters, or as busways. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-856. Maximum Number of Disconnects (Sec~ <br /> tion 230-71). <br /> <br /> Section 230-71 of the National Electrical Code is <br />a~ended to read as follows: <br /> <br />230-71. Disconnection from service conductors. <br />A single fusible switch or automatic circuit <br />breaker shall be provided to disconnect all un- <br />grounded conductors supplying each separately <br />metered occupancy. <br /> <br /> <br />
