238 PAGE 2 <br /> ORDINANCE NS-~403 <br /> <br /> The regular member shall, in conjunction with the alternate member, appoint an <br />associate member, for a total of seven (7) aasoeiate members. The associate members <br />shall be attending classes at an intermediate school level (age 11-13); associate members <br />shall receive no compensation and have no voting rights. <br /> <br />Sec. 2.-451. Requirements of Membership. <br /> <br /> Each member of the Youth Conunission shall be a student, as well as a resident of <br />the City of Santa Aaa. Regular and alternate members arc limited to high school aged <br />individuals (ages 14-18) and associate members are limited to intermediate school aged <br />individuals (ages 11-13). Should any member cease to reside within the City of Santa <br />A_ua, cease to attend classes as a student, by either graduation or termination of education, <br />or reach the age of nineteen (19), his/her office shall automatically be vacated. All <br />prospective .members shall provide written proof of parental or guardian permission to <br />qualify for appointment. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-452. Director's duties. <br /> <br />It shall be the duty of Executive Director of the Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency, and/or his/her designee, to report to the Youth Commission all <br />information and data available to him/her which can be of assistance to the deliberations <br />of the commission and shall advise the commission on any issues on which they require <br />assistance and/or guidance. . <br /> <br />Sec. 2-453. Meetings. <br /> <br /> The Youth Commission shall hold at least one (1) regular meeting each month at <br />dates and times specifically set out and established by the commission. The meetings <br />shall be held in the city council chambers, unless the city council provides for another <br />place of meeting. The commission maY'hold additional meetings at places other than the <br />city council chambers to the extent deemed necessary. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-454. Vacancies. <br /> <br /> A vacancy in the membership of the commission, other than one created by the <br />expiration of a term, shall be filled by the alternate for such position for the unexpired <br />portion of the term appointed by the City Council. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-455. Compensation. <br /> <br /> Each regular member of the commission, or any alternate serving in the absence <br />ora regular member, shall receive compensation for each regular meeting, and up to three <br />special meetings of the Youth Commission which said member attends, in such amount <br />and upon such terms as ordained by the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
