Tax. <br /> <br /> regular meetings, was read and upon motion of Trustee Tubbs <br /> duly seconded and carried, the request is g ranted. <br /> <br />A~et~tion with property ewners' signatures asking that Mrs. <br />g.~. Dibble be allowed to finish the building on 4th and Main <br />tmder the original plans calling for excavating under the side- <br />walk on Fourth St., and a trap door on Main St., upon motion of <br />Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, permit is <br />granted. <br /> <br />A communication from the Home Tel &Tel. Oo., and statements <br />showing the gross earnings of the Oompany ~r the past two years <br />but failing to enclose a check covering the back franchise tax <br />was read and on motion of Trustee McPhee duly seconded by Tubbe <br />and carried, referred to the City Attorney. <br /> <br />A resolution from the Chamber of Commerce and M. & M.Association <br />in reference to granting a curve on 4th and Main 8ts., to the <br />~acific Electric Ry. Co., read and on motion of Trustee Greenleaf <br />that the President appoint a committee of two to confer with <br />a conmuittee of two members from the Chamber of Commerce and two <br />members of the M.& M.Assoc.,the President calling for a roll call <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees Greenleaf, Maryatt and Visel. <br /> <br /> ~oes, Trustee McPhee. <br /> <br />Not voting, Trustee Tubbs. <br /> <br />A protest signed by the property owners near 1018 g.Washington <br />Ave., against granting a permit to Hong Xes for a Ohinese Laun- <br />dry, was read and on motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by <br />Tmbbs, that a permit for the laundry be denied,carried. <br /> <br />Upon motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded and carried, that <br />the application of the Pac.Tel.& Tel. Co. to excavate in certain <br />streets, in the present form, be denied, and on motion of Trus- <br />tee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee, that the committee be con- <br />tinued, carried. <br /> <br />Oapt.Jack Dalton, representing the Fine Ar~ Film Co., asking <br />permission to use some of the streets for fighting scenes and <br />to have the aid of the Fire Dept., in the burning of some old <br />houses, was on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt <br />and carried, same is granted. <br /> <br />Mr.W.L.Deimling representing the So. Cal. gdison Co., appeared <br />before the Board and#resented a statement accompanied by a check <br />of $1478.85 for franchise tax for power and heat but not for <br />light, a motion by Trustee McPhee that two members be appointed <br /> <br /> <br />
