Franchise 'lax In R~ SL~z":a!k and Curb ..,,alnut carried, shall be # On motion of Trustee McPhee,that another day police officer be added to the police force in order to give the Marshal more time to attend to office duties and to dispense with the services of the lady clerk in the Marshal's office on the first of the month, was duly secouded and carried. # A vote being taken on the applications of W.W.Vestal and Joseph H.Ryan for the appointment of police offic.~r,resulted as follows: Ryan 4, Vestal 1. Ryan Meceiving a majority of the votes cast was appointed; to take effect at once. # Upon motion of TruStee Tt~bb., duly seconded by Maryatt and in the future all police officers on the day shift in uniform. On motion of Trustee Maryatt, duly seconded and carried, all burning of trash and rubbish on paved or oiled streets is prohibited. # Upon motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, the City Marshal is instructed to notify all business houses in the business district that in the future they are to put their garbage and rubbish in convenient receptacles and not be in weight over 75 lbs. # On motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, thc City Attorney is instructed to Start proceedings against H J.Stevens for the collection of $48.00 guaranteed by him for extra police hire during fair week. # The appAxca~xon of A.G. Gilleapie,&O.A. Williams, to circulate petxtlons for oil and gravel on ~ogan,Ouater, Grand Ave.and Santa Clara was on motion duly seconded and carried, ordered received and placed on file. # On motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried the certified statement of the Pacific Electric Co., accompanie, by a voucher check for 4o · ~,,~?.SE covering paymentfor frauchise ta~ under Ordinance No.~81 for year ending Nov.?,lglS,was accepted. # Upon motion of Trustee Maryatt, duly seconded by McPhee and carried all cement sidewalks and curb not already in on West Walnut between Flower and Booth Bts.,be ordered in at once.
