In Re P~rmit tc d~mon~trate street paving In Re Tariff Commission apFoint-~.~nt The committee appointed mt the meeting of Dec. 4th in refer- ence to paving streets under Specifications N0.82 during winter months, made the following report. To al/ow contractor to prepare streets for paving by putting street to grade, layin~ of~ water, sewer and gas connections, cement curb and gutters and within 30 days from said improvements, contractor to come before the Board and get permission to close any such street for the paving of same. This report was on motion duly seconded and car£ied, adopted. Upon motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded and carried, City Engineer Bonebrake is instructed to furnish the City Attorney with the proper data for water ways on streets to be improved with pavement. Upon motion of Trustee McPhee, Chairman of the Committee to need of a sewer on South Flower St., below same be denied, was duly seconded and carried. in reference Walnut, that On motion of Trustee McPhee, thmt a committee be appointed with power ~o act in reference tc trmding the two old Fords used bythe Water Dept., for new ones was duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, President Visel appointed Tcusteee and MoPhee as such committee. On motion of Trustee carried, the action Tubbs MoPhee duly seconded by Maryatt and taken Dec.4th instructing Water Supt.Reid to install a Fire hydrant at Pacific Ave., and Hickey St., is hereby rescinded. The motion of Trustee McPhee that the City use North side of Bishop St., from Maple t~ Main as a Water Way, was duly seconded and csmried. On motion of Trustee MoPhee, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, Wells & Bressler were granted permission to experi- ment with a thin coat of oil and coarse sand in pavement put in u.uder Specifications No.82 without cost to property owners for one Block. With Trustee Tubbs in the Chair, President Visel made the following motion, that the Chamber of Commerce and E.A M. ASsociation be asked to co-cp~rate with the Board in starting a movement for the appointment cf m Southern California~and particularly a Santa Aha man ~s one of the six men to be ~ppoi~ ted by President Wilson on the T~lff Commission. This motion was duly seconded by Trustee Maryatt and carried.
